The biggest drawback is because of the smoky color of the water reservoir I have to hold it up to the light to see how much water is in it rather than adding to the desired line.

  • Many Reviews Note the Top Lid Problem!

Should have read all the reviews online on this coffeepot before purchasing, especially on KOHLS. I have had 3 Cuisinart programmable grind and brew thermal coffee pots. They have all been great! However my second one finally broke after 10 years (first one survived about 12 years), but that was ok. So I ordered this newest version Perfec Temp Thermal with 12 cups, and just opened it today. Took the machine out of the box and began to prepare it. When the packaging came off, the top lid popped up and would not go back down. Hinge in front is inoperable. I found many reviews online complaining of the failure of this hinge. I cannot believe that Cuisinart would make such a lousy product and at such a big cost. Why has this model not been recalled??

This is the second KitchenAid coffee maker I own. The other one is the high end $100 unit with more choices, settings, etc. I do think this refurbished unit is good, and I appreciate the setting for smaller amounts of brewed coffee, which seems to work well. The timer works well but it does seem to be a little challenging to figure out how to activate the auto because it is not quite as the manual describes. Overall, if it holds up like KitchenAid appliances usually do, I would encourage purchase of this model..

This was purchased as a Christmas present for someone an they have not received, much less utilized the appliance so your request for a rating is way too premature.

Love that this does a great job and it's easy to clean. The bowl is metal and dishwasher safe. My last coffee grinder had a plastic bowl that cracked so I had to replace it though it still worked well. This one should last.
