I have had this for a month or so. Purchased this unit with the free grinder because it was less expensive at the time than the same thing without the grinder. The grinder is just so-so. It works OK, but is a little small for making enough ground coffee for a full strong pot in one go. I usually brew about 2/3rd to 3/4ths of a pot when I am grinding with it. It would be fine for anyone who likes regular strength coffee, I think. This list of Pros and Cons for the coffee maker. Pros: *Multiple operations modes including clean cycle *Easy to program *Fast to brew coffee - A full 12 cup pot in about 11 minutes *Makes good coffee *Large capacity pot that doesn't drip when you pour from it, even when full *Both the coffee maker and water heater can be run at the same time. *Looks nice *The filters are available from a number of sources for a reasonable price. (I have excellent water and don't use them, though.) *Automatically detects when cleaning is needed. (I haven't needed to clean mine yet, but assume that this works....) Cons: *Water heater side could be faster. Holds a pot of water but only seems to heat about a cup of it at a time. After dispensing about a cup of water, the heating light starts flashing and it takes another couple minutes to finish the next cup. I guess I would use the coffee maker side if I wanted a whole pot of hot water at once. * It could be easier to add water to this - the opening behind the filter area is not very large. No real problem though since the carafe pours well.

I first bought a Cuisinart DTC-975BKN Thermal 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker from *** after my 5 year old Cuisinart died. It leaked - I couldn't believe how awful it was considering the brand name. Most on *** wrote the same reviews. SO, you can imagine I was leary to buy another Cuisinart, but I wanted a thermal cafe and bought this one. The design on this is much better than the other model I returned. I just made my first pot of coffee and all is well - I am happy. No leaking. The coffee is hot and is staying hot. Some things for Cuisinart to consider: Make the water easier to fill - it's not awful, but could be improved. And I understand the carafe lid is designed to keep the coffee hot, but the coffee doesn't pour as easily and freely as my glass carafe. I think this may just be me being fussy. One pot of coffee is what this review is based on - if trouble comes - I'll write another review.

I have friends who drink coffee or tea. This product meets both needs without having a electric water product or heating water by other means. Also, I like the pouring lid on the coffee pot - no drips.

Hello, Con: It does not have AUTO-OFF Feature. I would have liked that, as I am forgetful and in a rush sometimes. ***************************** Pro's: Quiet / Fast Brewing / Pours well, no dripping off the spout when you pour like my little Mouse over image to zoom Have one to sell? Sell it yourself Cuisinart 4 cup Coffee Maker / Great size / Great value. Pro's outlast the Con .----BUT I SHOULD HAVE READ THE FINE Print with no Auto Off. I will keep it and work on my memory! hehe,

The french press coffee maker is perfect and makes coffee better than in a restaurant. Very easy to use and quicker than making a traditional pot. Highly recommend.

Nice, small and very efficient coffee maker for the coffee lover.

The special carafe is specifically what drew me to this product. The carafe is advertised as heat-retaining and there is no hot-plate on the coffee maker itself. The carafe does indeed keep the contents hot, not just warm, for more than adequate time. I drink 2-3 cups of coffee each morning and the third cup is as hot as the first when I get around to pouring it.

Have been using it for 2 months or so and do not see any shortcomings. Great design, decent quality, great overall value. Just be mindful of the size it truly makes just one cup.

I read all the reviews before I ordered this item. I have to say that I can't tell it was refurbished at all. I was also surprised to see that it came with the gold mesh filter and a coffee scoop. It works well and makes good coffee. I would give it 5 stars, but I gave it 4 because of one small issue. The condensation that builds up on the inside of the lid tends to drip down the back of the coffee maker when you open it. Not a real big deal - but seems to be a design flaw to me. For the price - great deal!

This coffee maker has been in use almost daily for about a year. I've find it very reliable and it makes good coffee in 2-3 minutes depending on how much you fill it ... good enough for my simple tastes. A few of things come to mind that may be helpful to others. First, the water reservoir holds just 18 ounces max, so this is hardly 4 8oz cups of coffee. At 18 oz. it pretty much fills the included thermal travel mug, which is not as well insulated as other travel mugs. This coffee maker will NOT make four 8oz cups of coffee unless you refill and run it 4 times. Once filled and turned on the unit heats the entire capacity in the reservoir and empties into the mug non-stop. To get the described 4 servings you'd need to slip 4 small cups in turn under the drip spout. I think of it as a single serve 'morning mug 'o coffee' machine. *If you need a second or spare mug you can purchase the same thermal mug from **** online store.* The design puts the water reservoir on top of the unit however the smokey colored plastic obscures the ounces fill markings, I employ a measuring cup to fill it. The start button is right where you would handle the unit to move it, easily bumped and activated by items on counter top so I keep the unit unplugged when not in use. Though it includes a 'gold mesh' filter I dislike the clean-up mess so I use #2 ******-type paper filters set inside the plastic basket holder. I fold up the crimped bottom and side seams for a perfect fit. All in all a great little unit!

We bought this to replace a similar maker that we ruined using CLR to clean. We followed the directions on the CLR and rinsed about 50 times and the coffee still tastes like CLR. Won't try that again! We wanted a cone style drip maker with a thermal carafe. The picture shows a glass carafe but the model number was for the machine with the stainless thermal carafe so we took a chance and ordered it. This machine is the one with a thermal carafe, exactly what we wanted. It works really well, the spray head is larger than normal so the grounds get uniformly soaked (we use six scoops of whole beans ground fine and the filter gets pretty full of water, if you use more it might over flow). You can adjust the strength of the brew on the machine, I assume this slows the water down a bit. One really nice feature is that it has a heated base that warms the carafe even though it's a thermal carafe. It's just come on when the coffee is brewing but it helps keep the coffee in the carafe warmer longer. All-in-all a very nice machine.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves a great cup of coffee. The French press is very pretty and looks lovely sitting on the table while drinking your coffee. It is also a nice size for 1-2 people who just want a cup in the morning or a cup after your evening meal. The taste of the coffee is truly delicious....

I am very happy with the coffee pot and the quality of the product. I love the carafe it is a no-drip spout which usually is a problem in most coffee pots. It has a filter which is has the ability to be changed. you can set the timer to start by itself or not. I am very happy with my purchase.

I had an earlier model of this for nearly 8 years. It finally gave up the ghost. This one seems better, because the bean feed is so much easier to clean and holds 1/2 lbs. of beans. I love it. I would rather have a "freshly" ground cup of coffee than the processed 1 cup packages others are selling...

This is a great coffee maker. It looks great, it makes 12 cups, it has the automatic feature, the thermos pot keeps the coffee fresh and hot for hours, it's easy to clean. The design is slightly taller than the more common boxy Cuisinarts, but because it is narrower, it doesn't seem to take up as much space. I love getting 12 cups of coffee at once for our 3- person household. The coffee is excellent and the automatic feature is a no-brainer. If I set it up the night before, I wake up to fresh hot coffee no matter how much later I get up. A baby- bottle brush cleans the pot quickly. To clean the 'patented' lid, I just swish it through some hot soapy dishwater, then rinse : voila! Kudos to Overstock once again. I found this coffee maker on another site for less but the shipping and handling charges made it only a negligible savings; 'allow 5-10 business days for delivery.' You can always count on Overstock -I received my coffee maker less than 48 hrs. after ordering. Thanks, Overstock!

Not that happy with it at all. Somehow it drips coffee all over the counter when you pour and the burner is, well, burning away. Black crud is accumulating on the burner and whatever it is, when I wipe it off with wet wash rag the rag is blackened and the black won't come off even when washed in the washing machine. The carafe does maintain the heat and it performs well as far as making coffee goes.

I've always wanted a french press and I was not disappointed. I saved the carafe from my old coffee maker and when the coffee is done, I pour it into that. That way, the coffee doesn't soak with the grinds and I have the press washed for the next pot. One tip I found, pour just enough hot (just below boiling) water into the press and let the grinds "bloom" for 30 seconds or so, then pour the rest of the water in. This makes such nice smooth, non bitter coffee. I'm a fan.

If you are in a dorm or really small living space, and just want average coffee everyday, then I would say then buy this. It is very small, with small but nicely made mugs and does not require much watching. If your looking for great amaazing coffee and a maker that can make great big mugs or jugs of coffee, I recommend something else.

I really like this coffee maker. I am writing this review to make sure potential buyers are aware of a couple of things. One; the cup is small therefore at 3/4 full it is half (~8oz) of a normal cup. Two; the strainer allows a small of grounds through. So far I've been using Folgers only, I can imagine a courser grind would work better. Three; The temperature is not "super" hot. It has been fine for me. With one "Folgers" scoop I have been able to brew two cups of coffee. The brew is fast (2-3mins), maybe typical for 1 cup units?

This is a great coffee maker. The coffee is very hot. Also, because of the slower drip, the coffee flavor is more intense. I love that it's programmable and each cup is good through the 2 hrs. it's on the warming tray. I highly recommend this coffee maker.

Three things cause a bathing suit to fade faster than anything else: chlorine, strong detergents, and sunlight. Any of these alone will cause fading, but when all three are combined, your swimsuit has little chance of retaining its brilliant color. Both chlorine and sunlight can bleach fabrics, and strong detergents can break down color in fabrics, resulting in color loss over time. By following these steps, you can keep a bathing suit from fading, which in turn helps it last season after season.
