Wish I had read all the reviews of this shaker BEFORE I purchased it for a Christmas gift in '08! Although this shaker LOOKS great and SEEMS like a good deal for the price, as my title says, "pretty is as pretty does". This shaker is nothing more than a chrome-plated dribble glass!While I didn't have the problem other reviewers spoke of, like the top being stuck on or leaking, when I try to pour out a cocktail after removing the cap, almost as much of the liquid dribbles down the side of the shaker as actually goes into the glass into which I'm trying to pour!Poor design would seem to be the culprit, not an actual "defect" - the lip around the pouring strainer isn't tall enough to keep the liquid from dribbling down the sides.There IS a work-around - simply take the whole top off and use an old-fashioned wire-loop-bound cocktail strainer to keep the ice in when you pour.Better yet- buy a different shaker!

It looks nice and it's a great size.Shaker leaks consistently every time you pour from it. It makes a big mess. Would not recommend you buy this item.

I bought it to use for martinis. It leaks awful - no seal to keep contents from leaking; and the top (not cap) is difficult to remove.....

The top of the shaker was stuck/fused on, rendering it useless. The customer service did give me a full refund though.

Great shaker, it's large, closes well but is not difficult to open. Great price!

Great martini shaker! Excellent price for a durable shaker and it doesn't leak so your drink is in a glass and not on the floor. Awesome deal. Bought one for a friend and she loved it.

I don't have as many dribbling/leaking issues as it sounds like others do, but yes, it occasionally doesn't pour the way I'd like it to. I've had it for over 3 years, it generally does the job, particularly for the price.

This shaker was a good value for the price. However, the bottom could have been wider for a more stable base and the metal thicker.

It leaks down the sides when you pour ie, the cap does not fit securely.

Gave shaker set with the book on martinis as a gift. Receipient liked the size of the shaker, that it is stainless steel, and that it has a strainer inside. Cap fit tightly so nothing spilled out.

arrived in damaged original packaging. a little spillage using the product. saw competing product for $5 cheaper at another kitchenware store 2 days after receiving.

Ordered the martini shaker as a Christmas gift. The top was extremely difficult to remove. When we finally were able to pry it off and make the martini's, it leaked all over. It is basically useless. The price was good and it looks nice...but no bargain if you can't use it.

This is my first martini shaker. I bought it with discount so I have no complain about the price/value. The only issue I notice is that it leaks, as the cap is not very well sealed when you shake it. So I have to shake left and right instead of up and down or in any free way! But in general it's OK. If you can find another one with same price but no leaking, try the other one.

I liked the cocktail and martini shaker I bought from Overstock.com so much that I bought 2 more for two of my friends.

I received this item today. The top was extremely hard to remove. The shaker and the top had a lot of scratches and it was dirty. However, it will serve the purpose. If you ignore the scratches it looks pretty good.

This is my first cocktail shaker, so I've never used one before. It looks nice enough, but I have a hard time pouring from it. Liquid spills all over the side of the shaker, rather than actually pouring into the glass.
