Description details read "solid hardwood construction" which is true of the frame of the couch. However, all the legs which appear to be brown wood in the picture are actually just brown plastic cups which is a little cheap looking. I thought they'd be wood legs, but I suppose they don't specify exactly how much of it is "solid hardwood construction." Looks wise, the couch looks great and is more of a tan shade than the tan/white shade you see in the picture. It's a "low" couch so I wouldn't use it in a room with high ceilings unless all your other furniture is low too. It's definitely something you'd want to put pillows on as well, because it's not comfortable to sit upright on for too long. There is very little back support but I think the seat cushions are OK (medium firm which I like)--it almost feels hollow and I shudder to think what it's going to feel like after a few years (if it lasts that long). It's a cheap couch, but not THAT cheap.
