Created in the later part of Monet's life as his eyesight was failing, Iris, 1914-1917 is an excellent example of modern impressionism. Amazingly complex in a seemingly simple composition, Iris was an exercise in the evolutionary aspects of masterful painting. Canvas is spline-finished over solid wood stretcher bars. Individually handcrafted and coated with multiple layers of a UV finish. Recreated in amazing detail, art is ready to hang. Includes black satin or wood mahogany frame. Don't bother unless you are sure you want this
I bought this painting with the then-available gold frame. Both the picture and the frame were much brighter than expected and needed. It didn't go in the room. Needed more subdued colors. Have it hanging elsewhere temporarily until I can find something else and then put this one on consignment . The only reason I didn't return it is that when I went to return it was told via the web site that it was UNRETURNABLE. This should be more visible on the description before someone orders it. VERY disappointed that I am now stuck with it and would never order another picture/painting from the O.com again.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Much brighter than expected. Needed more subdued colors.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Okay - dent in frame
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? Omitted that item was unreturnable
