futon storage sofa
from Falls Church, Va.,  Apr 22, 2009

This is exactly what I had been looking for to put in my little tv/guest room. It is beautiful, comfortable and the storage bin makes it so practical for small spaces. All the bedding, pillows and more fit right in. The red color is stunning and cheerful. The only assembly is putting on the legs. This is a great value!

Nice looking but not comfortable to sit on
 from chicago,  Jul 13, 2011

We bought it about 1.5 years ago. It's a nice looking piece, esp. fits the contemporary deco of our condo. However, it's not comfortable to sit on, the back seat is not leaning backward enough so my back hurts after a while for sitting almost straight without back support. It's great to be used as a sleeper. Even though we don't use it much, the seat begin to sink after a year. I regret buying it after seeing much nicer sleeper couch in costco with even cheaper price. Buying it here just saved us some trouble for shipping.

  • How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Exact
  • Please tell us about the quality of the product. after 1 year of irregular use, the seat sunk
  • How accurate was the on site description of the product? pretty accurate

5 stars
from Falls Church, VA,  Mar 25, 2010

I really like this product, I purchased it for guest/art/music room.I wanted something that would work for all functions listed, I love the neutral red, it works with any color combination. It offers a place to sit while working on PC or viewing tv, while practising music, and a bed for guest. It arrived and was immediately taken to the extra room, the most difficult part was getting it out of it's very ackward box (I was working alone, second pair of strong hands would be a plus). This is also for flipping the futon over onto it's leggs. The storage box is actually attached to the futon this is a feature I was looking for when purchasing a futon, unlike others I have researched, the're storage box is a separate box slid under futon, not a good feature for me personally. This is one piece of furniture that I will be keeping as long as possible.

Microfiber Futon
from New Jersey,  Aug 25, 2009

This futon is very comfortable as a sofa and also as a firm bed,its easy to put down into the bed position and just as easy to turn back into a sofa. The red color is nice and bright. It also has enought storage for bedding to be stored out of sight! I bought this for my teenager and he loves it.All I had to do was take it out of the box put the legs on and it was done in 5 minutes.

good value
from DC area,  Aug 23, 2009

Comfortable, nice modern appearance. Firm and comfy, not that hard lumpy kind of futon of yesterday. I would have liked a page with instructions about how to change its position (flat bed vs sofa), but someone else figured it out for me. No problems at all. You do have to put the legs on yourself. they provide the hardware and the tool that is needed.

Futon
 from Georgia,  Aug 23, 2009

Purchased this product for my son who insisted on sleeping on the floor because his musical equipment took most of the space in his bedroom. Was pleasantly suprised that the only assembly was the legs. (drill saves time)Wonder if there is a mattress pad to fit a futon bed?

Futon with storage
from Long Island, NY,  Aug 16, 2009

Assembly required was to stick on the velcro armrest-pillows and attach the legs with 4 screws each. I didn't expect to have to attach the legs and there were no directions on where to put them. My girlfriend spotted tiny holes where the screws belonged and they were easy to put in once we found the holes. The legs didn't look super strong but they've held the weight of two full grown people. The storage feature is nice, I keep the blanket and pillow in there for use when sleeping overnight. The price is as high as any competing futon I've seen but there was almost no assembly (see above) and it looks more like a couch than most of the others. The button-tuft upholstery and the joint where it folds are imperfect as a mattress and it's stiff. I don't think it's stiffer than my extra-firm real mattress, though, and it is much better than an inflatable mattress I was using (it got a slow leak, amplifying the repeating problem that an elbow or knee can go right to the floor when the air pressure is inadequate). The red color was $5 cheaper, my girlfriend said she didn't mind red, and I'm learning that means I better get the red one.It isn't obvious how to release the back to let it flop down as a mattress but I figured it out easily. Some people need to be shown, and I suspect there may be an easier way to do it, or a feature with more expensive units that lets it be done with one motion and a single release point. As is, I have to release each end separately and take care not to break it while it is half-released.That's about all, except I have been using it a couple of times a week to save myself a commute. I sleep well and it doesn't make noise when I move.

well-constructed piece of furniture
from Seattle WA,  Jul 19, 2009

I chose this piece because I thought it was more of a Chinese red than the scarlet color that it actually is. Fortunately, the other furniture in the room is black and there is no direct contact with the rugs and other furniture and artwork throughout the house with which it would otherwise clash. That said, this is a sturdy, well-crafted futon that is fairly comfortable to sit and sleep on, definitely on the firm side. If you need something for occasional guests, and would appreciate having a sofa in your study, this is a good choice. Be mindful of the color, though, as it I think it would be challenging to integrate it into many color schemes. It looks fabulous with black furniture and black and white pillows (and one little pillow covered with red and yellow plumeria blooms that I picked up in Hawaii brings just the right splash of color to the room). I like it, but I'm not certain I'd have purchased it if I'd been aware of the actual color. Fortunately for me, it works anyway in the room I put it in.
