We love, love, love these drapes! They exceeded our expectations and easily compete with the quality of the velevet drapes we looked at at Pottery Barn for twice the price per panel. We ordered 9 velvet curtain panels from another online vendor because we needed 125" length for our den and Overstock did not have these drapes available in that length. We were very dissapointed with the competitor's drapes, which were the same price per panel but are constructed out of a thinner cotton velvet and have a thin polyester lining and look cheap compare to these drapes. I highly recommend these drapes!!!! I rate them a 10 out of 10.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The drapes are a deeper red which was even better!
Please tell us about the quality of the product. High quality cotton fabric well made.
How accurate was the on site description of the product? Very Accurate
First - you should know that I sew, and have made draperies for my home. So, I know what it takes to construct a nicely made drape. These drapes are very nicely made, indeed. The fabric is velveteen, not velvet. Velveteen has a shorter nap and isn't as crush-able as real velvet, which has a higher nap and is a more temperamental and delicate fabric. In my opinion, velveteen is better for draperies. The curtain panels have a deep rod pocket (to shirr the drapes, if desired), and a tabbed-back to create mock pleats in the front. There's also a sewn-in tape on the header back (wrong side) thought which you weave drapery hooks and then attach such hooks to rings on a pole. These are nice options.
The side hems are generous; the lining is off-white cotton sateen; and there are drapery weights sewn into the lower edge corners of the panels to make the drapes hang better. The 100-percent cotton velveteen fabric is heavy-weight and lush. The color is burgundy/claret/wine. The overall weight of the drape is heavy. I'm using four panels (one on each end and two in the middle) to span a 12-foot wall with two 53"-wide windows centered in this space. I'm using these drapes primarily to frame/soften these to-the-ceiling windows, but will probably pull the drapes across the windows in the winter months (in the evening) for some extra insulation/warmth. If I was using these drapes in a closed position all of the time, I would add two more panels (one at each end), but for my purposes the less-than-extra-full look in a closed position is OK. These drapes are so substantial that even closed, they look full. Excellent value for the price (about $100 per 50" wide x 96" long panel). Actually, a bargain.
I looked everywhere for velvet panels to put up next to our theater room screen. Most were very expensive. I read all the positive reviews and felt confident enough to purchase these panels. I am so glad I did! They truly are a gorgeous color and look very chic in our theater. The fabric and quality are way nicer than I expected feeling weighty and lush. Now I am thinking of buying more in a different color for another room in my house. I think they would black out windows really well.
These are high quality curtains with a thick lining. I would recommend adding some light colors to your room to off set the dark rich color. Very simple yet stylish. I accidentally measured my French doors wrong so mine are a little long. Nothing a tie back couldn't fix. These are still beautiful.

I am a little confused as one question answered stated that the lining/back was white and another answer stated the back was the same as the front, red. As these will go in the front window of a restaurant, I require them to both be red velvet on both sides...are they?christinestyle88 on Nov 24, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
I'm sorry about that old answer. The back is white sateen.

In the picture these drapes hang by rings. Is this true?
Second, is the lining white, red, or ivory?
Many thanksempty7371 on Nov 20, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The back of these are white. We use curtain rings with clips to hang these. They have a pole pocket. Here are the curtain rings if you are interested. #13795967

In fact I have two questions.
Those came while I had filtered for blackout curtains, will they do the rick?
I also need to check the weight to make sure my current rod will hold. I read comments about their "heaviness".
Many thanks.fabmex1 on Nov 1, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Yes these will work great as a black out curtain. The curtains together are 3 pounds.

I would like to use these drapes against a wall that is 6' wide to cover up unsightly electrical boxes. They will be gathered on a curtain rod and I will always keep them closed (to cover the panels). Should I buy 2 or 3 of these to cover 72" of wall?curtainquestion on Nov 1, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
