This is not a bad set for the price. True to the other reviews, the finish scratches easily and the head/footboard are made of a very thin plywood. As another reviewer stated, you will need a bed skirt to hid the support under the bed. That being said, this set does look nice once everything is set-up, and the price is good for the number of items you get. It is is bit lighter than other cherry furniture, and a bit more on the orange side. Several of the pieces did arrive damaged (cracked, in fact), but Overstock handled the replacements quickly and efficiently (Overstock Customer Service was excellent!!!!). My advice is that if any of the boxes appear damaged, open them and inspect before signing.
Finish scratches easily and materials are low quality. Price was better in local store by a few hundred dollars. Looks OK from a distance but close inspection reveals tht this is a cheaply made product.

I bought the complete bedroom set last week, it arrived in less than one week. The guy who brought the shipment said we have to accept it and we cannot examine it or refuse shipment. thankfully it was in perfect shape. It is a light colored wood, it is moderately heavy. It is generally hard wood, but the head and foot boards of the bed are very cheap, thin plywood within a hard wood frame. Guests will notice this. Also all the joints within the chest, dresser and nightstand are either stapled or nailed, there are no quality dovetail joints. Shipping was only $2.50 and there was no tax; so it was about $500-600 less than a comparable set from a retailer. Overall, I have seen better and I have seen worse. I would recommend it for the price.

Outstanding design and quality, I love the hidden drawers. The bed was easy to put together but the mirror was a two man job.
