easy to put together. On the picture, it looks like the middle thing stays lowered. I had contacted overstock about that before purchasing it, but it does come up level to the rest of the table. Nice manufacturing and very easy to put together. Really no complaints.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? just as appears
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. seems to be very sturdy. Not that I recommend it, but i stood on a chair, and it did not give. It slides out to expand and the whole process of that is very smooth
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? very
This is an amazing, very high quality patio dining set for an amazingly low price. I was not necessarily expecting such superior quality for such a low price.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? True to color
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Excellent quality
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? Very accurate
When I decided it was time for us to buy a set of patio furniture for our new house, I was pretty taken aback at what a good set will cost you. I didn't want real wood because of the weather up here in the Northeast. This set was at a great price and I liked that it was poly and aluminum. We have a stamped concrete patio so I wasn't trying to lug around some cast iron chairs. This set manages to be very lightweight but still feel quite sturdy and durable. One thing that really annoyed me was that four nuts and four washers were supposed to be included to assemble the legs...but they were just tossed loosely in the gigantic box! Not in a baggie or stapled down or anything, which was ridiculous. Only one washer and two nuts actually made it to my house. I had to wait to assemble the table the next day so I could run out to the hardware store and replace the rest. Very irritating. I'll just list a few things below to avoid a huge wall of text: -The faux wood appears more of a rich sienna or light mahogany in the pictures. In person, it is more of a stone/taupe color. It does look nice with my patio but I would have preferred the richness of the reddish color. It will scratch so be prepared for it to not look like new forever. -The set comes completely assembled apart from attaching the legs to the table, which was a nice surprise. The chairs are fairly comfortable and I did stand up on one of them to reach a hanging plant. Not recommended I'm sure, but it felt strong and stable. -The finish on the aluminum frames is a dark charcoal/soft black powder kind of coating. Set arrived with a few dings and nicks in the finish but I'm assuming since it's aluminum it won't rust or be too big an issue. It's hardly noticeable and I'm not that picky. -The table does expand obviously, and as other reviewers have noted, the additional space in the center does rise up and become level with the rest of the table. That whole process is very simple and smooth. Good construction in that respect. I'll update with how this withstands the test of time and seasons here in upstate NY. I can only hope the faux wood doesn't warp at all and I'm also hoping the exposed bolts on the backs of the chairs don't rust. That would look bad.
