It is a great room divider
Anonymous  from San Diego,  Jan 7, 2008

I have a studio and i used this as my room devider. It is a beautiful piece of work that everyone commented when they come to visit. It is natual looking and matched my dark color funiture very well. Once it is installed the panels move smoothly. The only problem is the installation. It is easy to assemble everything together, but the instruction doesn't tell clearly how to put it on the ceiling or wall. The instructions didn't make sense. I had to hire a handy man to install for me (please don't follow the instruction becuae it turned out to be wrong). He installed within 5 mins. Overall I really enjoy the product and the look it added to me room, but it would be great if the instruction was correct.

An inexpensive solution
from San Francisco, CA,  Mar 30, 2008

I purchased the panels for exactly the problem in the photo: A deck sliding glass door that let in too much streetlight in the evening. I installed them under an existing sheer curtain and rod, so that I can cover them as well. The pros: They do what they were meant to do, and they are fairly easy to install (although the directions have ONLY pictures and no written instructions), and operate. There are two tracks with 4 panels, so they can slide to either side. Cons: They are a bit "flimsy"- the panels themselves attach to the rod fixture with Velcro, and the fixture is very lightweight metal. Also, be prepared to have less light during the day, since they don't completely "open" the entire window (remember, they always cover half). Other than that, the price was a reasonable investment to correct a problem, and they look "neutral" enough not to become a design statement.

Room partition
from Laguna Vista, TX,  May 3, 2009

We needed to temporarily partition a room to provide an extra bedroom. Our first thought was to buy free standing screens, but these have the disadvantage of inadequate height, and since 3 would be required, the cost is relatively high. The sliding panels looked like a more elegant option, so we ordered the 2 sets required. Delivery was as usual excellent from Overstock, assembly is a mix of easy (sliding rails, velcro attachment of panels) and awkward (folding bottom of panel to fit into the metal strip that acts as a weight at the bottom of the panels). When complete the effect is very good - panels slide easily, are sufficiently opaque for complete privacy, and allow some light through. Overall a good solution to the problem.

Serves its purpose
 from CA,  Mar 1, 2008

This product does it's job. I needed something to cover a sliding glass door and wanted something a little more modern than just regular vertical blinds. The only downfall is that when you open them you still have a limited view because they are not small like verticals. I have noticed that it stays warmer in the house because of these.

Picture directions
from San Diego, CA,  Jul 31, 2010

I love this product. It was perfect for the sliding glass door in my bedroom. The only problem was hanging them. The picture directions were not helpful and most of the screws didn't fit. We were able to use our own screws and get it hung in a day.

French Primrose Sliding Panel
from Jersey City, NJ,  Jun 21, 2010

I've been looking for a replacement for my old vertical blinds and I was very happy to have found this. It was easy to put together and it does what it is supposed to do -- block out the sun and provide privacy. It helps that it looks nice, too.

Nice window coverings
from Orance County, CA,  May 19, 2010

These sliding panels work well. Installation went with out any problems. I purchased two of these and my husband was able to combine the two rails to make one continuous rail. Panels slide easily. The color of the panels are warm in tone. The panels have a nice glow when the afternoon sun shines behind them. I do need to finish the top of the window coverings exposed railing with some other type of fabric treatment to make things more polished. I like the woven fabric but the edges seem like they will wear over time thus the four star rating. Overall I'm happy with look, design, ease of installation and functionality of these panels. Overstock provided quick delivery service.

maybe it's just me
 from Bermuda,  Apr 27, 2010

Ok i was so excited to get this after i read all the reviews. So i got it and got right to task trying to put it together. I say trying because i gave up after doing it wrong twice. The panelling just wouldn't cooperate. I'm what i would consider a fairly intelligent 27 year old woman but the directions just didn't look exactly like the pictures to me. In any case the materials are beautiful and i'm sure once i can get someone to properly construct it it will be functional and gorgeous.

View The World Through Primrose Sliding Panels
from Orlando, FL,  Apr 1, 2010

What can you do with a 16' long wall made up entirely of sliding glass doors? The view outside was great, but after 13 years of looking out through vertical blinds it was definitely time for a change. But until I discovered these sliding cloth panels on Overstock, I couldn't find anything that worked with my South Beach-styled decor and bachelor life-style. These sliding panels were a perfect solution, providing discreet privacy in the evenings and as much, or little, of the day's Florida sunshine I wanted. The synthetic cloth used in the panels is easy to clean, fairly durable, and in a pattern that works with most decorating styles. The accompanying directions for installation could certainly be more helpful, offering only graphic "how to" instructions with no written guidelines. That being said, the system is so simple and easy to understand that, despite--rather than with the help of--the directions, I had both sets of panels out of the box, assembled and installed on my glass wall in about 30 minutes, using just a step stool, laser level, and power screw driver. The product description gives the impression that the panels have a top and bottom railing to keep the panels in place--but that's not so. There is a top roller/rail mount which works smoothly to move the panels anywhere along the 48-78" length of the railing. But, the panels each hang with a weighted aluminum strip at the bottom to hold them straight and in position. That can lead to some loud banging if you leave the doors open and a good breeze comes along. Small, flexible magnets glued to the opposing corners of each of the bottom weight strips can help to reduce, but not eliminate, that annoyance. All in all, the product is a great alternative to the ubiquitous "ho hum" vertical blinds, cheaper than verticals, and much easier to install. As a bonus, when you tire of the French Primrose panel material, it's an easy matter to use the same hardware and simply replace the original cloth panels with fabric of your own choosing.

Excellent for the money
 from Colorado,  Feb 21, 2010

We bought these panels to hide our washer and dryer. The opening would not allow for regular doors. We wanted something that would not be real noticeable, would hide the appliances, but would look nice. The panels blend well with the pine walls of our log home so are unobstrusive. Access to the washer/dryer is easy. Love the woven look of the panels and with gentle use I anticipate them lasting for several years. I topped them with a country ckecked valance and it looks marvelous! I have to say it is a brilliant alternate use for this item. My husband thinks I'm a genius for finding them. The instructions are pretty sparse but we figured it out pretty much just by looking at the parts. They certainly could be improved though. We are very satisfied with this purchase and especially the price. Overstock was it's usual flawless self with delivery !

Great, but some flaws
from Rochester, MN,  Apr 30, 2008

Since they are made out of something woven, they are easily snagged the edges are coming apart. I'm going to put fabric around the edges. Maybe would have been better out of a stiff fabric? They are a great addition though to our sliding glass door and go much better with our decor than the 70's looking panels.

Looks Good!
from Indianapolis, IN,  Apr 29, 2008

The sliding panels look great on my sliding glass door. Since the panels are so big, I decided to expand the double rail track an extra 7 inches on each side of the door measurements to allow more viewing when they are open. The panels could have been a little more durable bit looks great and serves the purpose for the price. If you are wondering, it does not come with anything to cover the track once installed. Assembly was very easy- must look at the pictures carefully- there's no written explaination.

functional room divider
 from SC,  Mar 31, 2008

Other than the fact that I had to purchase wall anchors to mount this securely to the ceiling eveything else was provided. I am very happy that I purchased 2 so that I could accomodate the width. Hangs nicely and has a pristine finish.
