This item..while very nice looking..was hard to assemble. Also...while assembling the magazine rack..a side piece split...practically crumbled...where the wood dowels go. The magazine rack is now unusable. We were going to forgo the magazine rack until we realized that there were multiple holes in the side of the unit and would be extremely tacky looking without the rack. By the way..this item is made out of the modified particle wood..or whatever you call it. It's not real wood. The instruction manual read like ancient cave drawings. I have never had to concentrate so hard to assemble a product. I have requested return information but will have to wait and see what Overstock says. If you are looking for something easy to assemble and hassle-free...this isn't it. This does not affect my overall experiences with Overstock. I have been ordering from them for a couple of years and this is my first major complaint.

Needed a small work area in bedroom to house a few files and house the laptop computer as well as organize bills in one area. Perfect size and doesn't look out of place with decor. Matches my bedroom decor perfectly. My husband and I were really surprised how nice it looks for the price we paid. Very nice!!!!

I normally have a great response to things I buy from overstock. However, this product, by far, was the worst. Assembly was horrible. Then once it was completed, it fell apart. All the bolts fell out! Some of the wood was even split. Do not buy this product.

I love this desk. If you have never assembled furniture before, then this may not be agood starter project for you. I have assembled all of the store bought furniture at our house so I had experience and had absolutely no problems following the directions. this type of furniture has mostly non-solid wood parts but this was as advertised and I am satisfied. My one problem had to do with one of the dowels in the magazine rack. It was too thick and would not fit into the appropriate slots. I simply sawed off each end a little bit so that I could then slide it into the slot. No big problem here. From my point of view, the price paid for this really good looking and very useful piece of furniture ---it is a good value. My husband really likes it cause now I have a place to pay bills and keep my files. How versatile! I recommend this piece of furniture.

I was excited when I ordered the product. When it arrived it seemed a lot smaller than in the pictures. Putting the unit together was a horror. The diagram helped a little. The material was cheap and is already bubbling up in certain areas. The unit looks nice from a distance. I don't think the unit is going to be able to hold up to any real wear and tear. Next time I will read the reviews before purchasing. Other items I have purchased have been a pleasure. I doubt that I will be ordering anymore furniture from the web.

THIS ITEM ON THE WEB SITE IS VERY NICE LOOKING, BUT WHEN ONE GOES TO ASSEMBLETHIS ITEM THAT WHEN ALL THE PROBLEMS. YOU WOULD NEED AT LEAST ONE MORE PERSON TO HELP IN THE ASSEMBLEING OF THIS ITEM, YOU ALSO NEED TO BUY EXTRA GLUE AS THE AMOUNT THEY GIVE IF FAR TO LITTLE. I HAVE ASSEMBLE MANY ITEM BEFORE SO I AM EXTREMELY KNOWLEGEABLE IN WORKING WITH TOOLS. I HAVE BOUGHT DIFFERENT ENTAINMENT CENTERS AND DESK WHICH NEEDED TO BE ASSEMBLE AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM BUT THIS PIECE WAS MUCH SMALLER IN SIZE WAS A HORROR TO ASSEMBLE AND THERE WAS NO PLACE TO CALL TO GET REPLACEMENT PARTS.

it is so pretty overall, especially in the picture.. I hope this was just my order that was so bad. Wood cracked, drawers don't fit right,and some of them can't be opened.... Very Very dissappointed

Requires tedious assembly and made from cheap particleboard. I have been ordering items from Overstock for awhile and this is the first that I am not happy with.

While superficially this desk looks good, it is really very cheap. Many of the pieces were chipped or cracked. The drawers do not quite fit right and get stuck when opening/closing. From a distance it looks good, but when you get close you can really see the many flaws. Too bad, up until now I have had pretty good success with Overstock.

Item arrived promptly and was easy to assemble--great quality and appearance for the price. I have limited space and this piece is perfect. My friends have commented on the desk and asked where I got it.

desk was purchased for my husband as a father's day gift from the kids...it looks good, is as described on the site...however, i am thankful my spouse is handy...it is not the simplest piece to assemble.

A few dings, but overall in great shape. easy to assemble. Drawers slide smoothly. good use of your dollar

I bought this piece to replace a large desk that I had in my spare bedroom. This is a perfect piece to replace it and takes up a lot less space. It looks very nice and for me, at least, it was easy to assemble. I used by power drill and it took no time at all. I would recommend this piece if you want to save space.

I really like this desk, it's small and doesn't take a lot of space in the room. Perfect for loptop!!! Easy to put it together, it took my husband about an hour.

Nice little desk for small spaces. Looks great and the price is right. Little difficult to assemble for a novice. Overall, a great product.

This was not difficult to put together at all! It's VERY compact and perfect for a small space. It's not the best quality in the world, but that shouldn't be expected at this price. Arrived promptly and looks as advertised. I'm very pleased.

The cherry bill payer is exactly what I expected, looks good and is very functional. However, it was very difficult to put together. I could never have done it myself. My handy experienced husband handled it and even he had trouble. If he did not have bar clamps, the piece would not have been totally square because some of the pieces were warped.

1. Not enough glue was provided 2. Dowel holes were not deep enough, so that no amount of pounding with a rubber mallet or drilling more space out, made the joints perfectly aligned. 3 "Wood" easily scrapes off, so you have to be very careful constructing and moving the desk.

i use this as my work desk... it gets used quite a bit. i love it... it's perfect for my laptop and for all the current files i need. i'm happy to have it.
