The Chef Knife set is for Professional, as well as amatuer chefs, such as myself I've used my Chef Knife many times already, and when cutting through raw meat, it's like a hot knife cutting through butter. So nice, so easy. There was no resistence from the meat. It's like the knife was gliding though the meat. Not that I would ever do it, but I bet I could shave with the edge of either one of the knifes, they are that sharp. The handles and the blades are all one piece, and it's like the knifes are molded and fit to one's own hand. The weight of the knives are just right. Not too light, and nowhere being too heavy. The satchel makes taking this knife set with you so easy. I will be taking my knife set with me on a few chili cookoffs I'm competing in. The knife set, with carry satchel would be a great buy

Great set
1c9s8f6  from Phila,  Jan 20, 2009
This is a great set of knives. Very complete kit everything you'll need. A quick sharpening right out of the box and they're good to go. My one and only downside is the steel has a screw in shaft not one solid piece, mines does not screw in securely and wobbles. Over all this is a great set, the carrying case is great if you have room mates who don't really cook and may have damaged some of your other knives like I do.

Good product...
wsb29  from California,  Oct 29, 2007
I really liked the knives. The case is a bit bulky compared to other sets of chef knives I have seen in the past, and the knives will need to be sharpened when you get them. Overall a nice product though.

These knives work well for us - husband and I are just starting out - but we hope to have some nicer ones in a few years. They were less sharp than expected, and the black design on the handles seems worn off in some spots. However, they are a great purchase for the price, not too heavy or unwieldy, and fit nicely in the hand. We have a magnetic strip above the countertop that holds them, and they look impressive when on display this way.

Attractive and functional knives
enegma  from Richardson, Texas,  Jul 25, 2007
This set has a very attractive design that looks very similar the to Global knives I have seen. They are weighted nicely and easy to sharpen. The price was very reasonable and they look impressive. I have already use them to prepare a meal and had no issues while using them. I would recommend them.

Excellent gift
el80  from Fort Collins, CO,  Apr 13, 2007
I gave this knife set to my mother for her birthday--she was in dire need for a new set, as she cooks very often and enjoys to cook. She absolutely loves the set, and has had no bad things to say about the knives. She loves the way they look as well as how well they work. She also said they are a very high quality, but do not weigh a lot, which is good on her wrists. The only downside is that they did not come with a block.

Super knife set

This knife set seems to be well made and of great quality. Though only an amateur cook, they do seem to do the job when needed.

This is a nice set for the money. The mix of eastern and western shapes gives you a knife for any job. The knives are well designed (for example, the chef knife is stiff with a thick spine, the utility knife is stiff with a thin spine, the boning knife is flexible with a thin spine). The steel is adequate: x35 CrMo13 at 52 Rc. They take a much better edge than the 420 stainless you usually see at this price, but you'll need to buy a good knife sharpener to maintain them. The handles and balance are very good, but the finishing on the blades is a little rough. For home use you can buy the Wushof 17 slot knife block which stores this set perfectly, or a knife storage drawer.
