Century Industries 22.5-inch x 10.33-foot Aluminum Attic Stairway

The stairs were shipped fast and received in good shape. The packaging was good and protects the stairs from rough handing during transit. I am pretty sound when it comes to building and installing things, but I have to say the directions for these stairs were marginal at best. After a couple of false starts, I managed to get the stair assembly mounted in to the ceiling opening. I had to cut about 1-foot off the last ladder section (I have 9' ceiling height) which is not untypical for these installations. The stairs open and close soundly. The real only issue I have with the unit is that there is a lot of side-to-side movement (twisting) in the unit which makes them appear flimsy. I have noticed that the small angle brackets that mount the stairs to the closure board are bending and am concern that they will prematurely fail which could be dangerous if they failed when you were on the stairs at the time. I give these stairs an overall average rating.
