I have been looking for a modern, low profile or flush mount ceiling fan as I have low (standard 8 foot) ceilings and all my current fans are flush mount. it's been impossible to find a flush mount ceiling fan under $300 that has clean, modern lines so I decided to give this a try since the downrod is only 6 inches.. I was a little nervous this might hang down to far, but it's perfect. I can touch the blades, but I have plenty of walking clearance under the fan. I bought two of these fans and liked them enough to buy two more so now all my ceiling fans match and I don't have any more of those dowdy 1980s style fans with the gold trim and ugly light sconces. The price is great and they look wonderful with all my dark wood and clean lined furniture. The remote control is a great bonus. It has an on/off switch for the light and low, med, high for the fan. The fan does not have a pull chain so you'll have to keep your remote handy (mine is attached to a light switch which will turn on the light for me). It puts out a nice amount of air in my medium sized bedroom. The light is on the soft side due to how opaque the glass shade is and because you can only use two 40 watt bulbs. But I don't want bright glaring light at night and prefer the softer light it casts so it works for me.

I am very pleased with the simple look of this fan--in my mind, fancy clashes with fancy--and the delay in the on-switch and the relative softness of illumination is fine for our bedroom. I like a lot of lamps, not a bright ceiling. One reservation: our handyman had a hard time getting all the tiny connections lined up. Nonpros could never manage it.

I furnished my brand new condo completely from scratch, in a mid-century modern style. I have a 1950s-era medium cherry Danish credenza and highboy in the bedroom, and this ceiling fan fit in perfectly! This fan replaced a gothic style ceiling fan that had pull chains and hung down really low from the ceiling. No one knew how awful that old ceiling fan was until I replaced it with this beauty! Lovely clean lines. Very quiet. The light is not very bright, but it will do. I've got other lamps in the room anyway for task lighting. Oh, by the way, the light IS dimmable from the remote, which I think is really cool. The only ugly thing about this fan is the remote control, which is cream colored plastic in the shape of an egg, with gray buttons. I mounted the remote on the wall; not very attractive, but at least it's small. I'm thinking of getting one of those hard-wired fan switches to use with it. I do already have it hard-wired into the light switch, but that only flips it off and on, based on whatever the last settings on the remote were. So of course I need the remote for choosing specific fan levels. I love this fan. If you go to vivadowntown on fb, you can see my photos.

My wife bought this to replace one of those ubiquitous white Hunter 5-blades whose motor burned out. We are going modern with our decor and this fan looks like a more expensive brand's hugger style (there is no down rod and you install flush to the ceiling), which we wanted with our low ceilings. Clean, spare metallic lines replaced white perforated metal and brass pull chains that hit you in the face when you walk around at night. Operation in 1st 24 hours is quiet (minimal hum), no complaints about air movement but it's only a 10x12 bedroom, remote control works, install is easy if you know DIY electrical (I consulted web when I got confused), able to wire light to the switch and the fan to the remote via 2nd existing hot and we like that the light kit uses 2 regular Edison bases for CFLs up to 20W. Light kit is cheaply made - this means do not exceed 20W in case of fire and we had to make adjustments to flanges so it didn't look so lopsided - makes me think that quality not great based on another reviewer's comments. Overall we're happy with the look and price so ordering a 2nd to replace another aging 80s fan.

We received the fan and everything was working properly for the first month. Then all of a sudden the remote stopped working. We changed the batteries and it still didn't work. We tried several different codes and made sure all the wires were set up properly, but it still would not work. We then rigged the fan to work with the wall switch and it worked just fine. The bottom line is that it was a faulty remote. We contacted overstock to find out who the manufacturer is and how to get a hold of them and they gave us nothing. No information and no help at all. They only stood behind the excuse that it has been more than 30 days since we received it so they could not even initiate a part request. This is by far the worst customer service I have experienced in all my years of purchasing online. Extremely disappointed in the product AND in Oversotck. I will never send another customer their way.
