We changed the entire look of our din to a cozy contemporary look. I purchased a beautiful minimalistic brushed silver ceiling fan along with three complementary lamps. They are sleek, classy, unobtrusive, well-made and bring the room together beautifully. I won't go anywhere else to buy my home decor because they are true to their description and incredibly low priced.

I have been looking for a modern, low profile or flush mount ceiling fan as I have low (standard 8 foot) ceilings and all my current fans are flush mount. it's been impossible to find a flush mount ceiling fan under $300 that has clean, modern lines so I decided to give this a try since the downrod is only 6 inches.. I was a little nervous this might hang down to far, but it's perfect. I can touch the blades, but I have plenty of walking clearance under the fan. I bought two of these fans and liked them enough to buy two more so now all my ceiling fans match and I don't have any more of those dowdy 1980s style fans with the gold trim and ugly light sconces. The price is great and they look wonderful with all my dark wood and clean lined furniture. The remote control is a great bonus. It has an on/off switch for the light and low, med, high for the fan. The fan does not have a pull chain so you'll have to keep your remote handy (mine is attached to a light switch which will turn on the light for me). It puts out a nice amount of air in my medium sized bedroom. The light is on the soft side due to how opaque the glass shade is and because you can only use two 40 watt bulbs. But I don't want bright glaring light at night and prefer the softer light it casts so it works for me.

I went to my local Lowes, so I could see what I was buying - Lowe's selection was truly disappointing. I have made several purchases - sight unseen - through O.Com, so I gave this a try too. Ceiling fan was exactly as indicated on-line. The electrician who installed it also agreed - as indicated. We both noticed a HOWEVER - nowhere was the actual BRAND indicated on the box, instructions, on-line. It all turned out fine, but it was kinda odd. I would make this purchase again with no hesitations.

I love this fan. I live on the top floor of my bldg. and even though you don't need a/c in SF a ceiling fan really helps to keep the air moving. I used to kick off the covers at night and the apartment would get stuffy in the afternoons, but now I feel like I'm sitting in the Caribbean breeze. It's quiet and sleek and keeps the air moving very well even on low or medium, on high it's like a wind storm. The installation wasn't hard, just tedious so set aside an hour or so when you are ready to install it. The remote is a very handy accessory, i can control the fan in the living room from my bedroom if I need to turn on the light or adjust the fan speed without getting out of bed. Very cool. My dog and cat relish in the cool breeze on the rug directly below the fan, they love it and I often keep it on for them when I am out. For the price, this fan is much nicer than others I checked out at the local fan store. Would definitely recommend.

This fan is a great looking replacement for my bedroom. We needed to buy an extra piece to mount this extra close to the ceiling because of the low ceilings in our bedroom, but using those pieces, this fan now looks great. I really like the dimmer switch on the remote

For the cost, this is a wonderful product. I think I remember reading in another review before I purchased the low hum that it has when turned on. This a correct. If you're a light sleeper, it may keep you up. Other than this hum (which I don't mind), it is a simple and functional ceiling fan--exactly what I was looking for!

WE HAVE VAULTED CEILINGS ON OUR BACK VERANDA/POOL DECK, SO TRYING TO FIND TWO 1/2" WIDE, 18"-24" LONG DOWN RODS TO GO WITH THIS FAN THAT SHOULD HAVE OTHERWISE INCLUDED THEM (UNLESS YOU HAVE EXTREMELY LOW CEILINGS OR WANT TO COOL THE CEILING NOT YOURSELF- THIS WILL WORK). CHEAPLY MADE, NO MANUFACTURER NAME ON BOX, UNDERSIDE COLOR HAS WOOD COLORED PANELLING LIKE A 70S STATION WAGON. BASCIALLY YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

We have purchased and installed 15 ceiling fans over the course of our marriage in different homes. This fan is by far the best especially from an air movement perspective. It is also very quiet. We are quite impressed. Plus, O is much less expensive than Lowe's. Overall, this purchase was a big win

This fan looked really nice once it was put up, only problem we had was when the fan was on the high setting it made a little clicking noise. I think the fan needed to warm up b/c now it no longer clicks all the time, just occassionally - which is a little annoying. Otherwise, very quiet and it is nice that it does not drop very low from the ceiling. Even our A/C guy commented on how nice the fan was! I would highly recommend the fan and for the price this is better than anywhere else!

Nice contemporary looking, low profile, with good lighting fixture. I looked at big box stores and could not find anything similar. Most either looked clunky or over designed. This is a great fan when you want something simple with clean lines that mounts directly on ceiling.

I purcahsed this fan because I liked the way it looked. I was a bit skeptical because I normally buy name brand ceiling fans at Lowe's or Home Depot. My skepticism was extremely warranted in this case. I have installed literally three dozen fans in my home and elsewhere over several years. In all of that time I have never found one that is so difficult to put together. What usually is a very simple process turned into a few hours more than it needed to be when I discovered that the screws sent to attach the blades to the center of the fan did not fit the holes in the fan blade arms. The heads of the screws did not sink into the holes in each arm so they had to be file by hand until they did. What an incredible pain to pay so much for a product and have to remake part of the product so it fits. Never again will I purchase a ceiling fan on line or from the company who made this one.

I got this fan for my bedroom. I like keeping the fan on all night while I sleep. It doesn't make one bit of noise! I have the little remote control right near the bed. It weighs next to nothing, so I just used double sided padded sticky tape to adhere to the wall....screws weren't necessary. My light switch is far from the bed, so having the remote is an added bonus to this already wonderful fan!!!! And it's really beautiful to look at!!! Oh, and since the ceiling is low, I didn't use the added extender part.

This fan looks great once it is mounted on the ceiling. It comes with a sturdy mounting bracket which allows one person to hang it without help. The blades are cheap wood (lke most fans at this price) but they are painted silver so they look like the aluminum finish around the light. The fan is fairly low profile considering it includes a light. The remote control is a great option but the directions for installing the transmitter aren't great, so it took a bit longer than expected. The three blades (instead of five) give the fan a very contemporary, industrial sort of look. Its exactly what I was looking for. I may even get another one for the bedroom.

This product is amazing. It works very well in our new sun-room (with cathedral ceiling) to keep the air moving - even on the lowest setting. It's also quite a conversation piece! The blades tuck in over the light, sort of folding into themselves, and as the fan builds up speed they spread out and begin to look like a normal fan. When you turn it off, the blades slow down and just before the rotation stops the blades fold back in place over the light and out of sight. Really quite cool to watch. The only problem is that the length of the rod that attaches to the ceiling isn't quite long enough for the pitch of our room so we can't use the fan on the highest setting. Actually, it's not really a problem since the low and medium settings are more than strong enough to keep the room comfortable.

My wife bought this to replace one of those ubiquitous white Hunter 5-blades whose motor burned out. We are going modern with our decor and this fan looks like a more expensive brand's hugger style (there is no down rod and you install flush to the ceiling), which we wanted with our low ceilings. Clean, spare metallic lines replaced white perforated metal and brass pull chains that hit you in the face when you walk around at night. Operation in 1st 24 hours is quiet (minimal hum), no complaints about air movement but it's only a 10x12 bedroom, remote control works, install is easy if you know DIY electrical (I consulted web when I got confused), able to wire light to the switch and the fan to the remote via 2nd existing hot and we like that the light kit uses 2 regular Edison bases for CFLs up to 20W. Light kit is cheaply made - this means do not exceed 20W in case of fire and we had to make adjustments to flanges so it didn't look so lopsided - makes me think that quality not great based on another reviewer's comments. Overall we're happy with the look and price so ordering a 2nd to replace another aging 80s fan.

Love this fan/light. It looks sleek and puts out decent air movement. We have so much fun showing guests how it works. Be careful when assembling main hanging rod as it has locktite on the threads. If put on backwards it will be a son-of-a-gun to get undone (don't ask how we know that). It is available as a special order through Lowe's at a higher price, so we feel we got a great deal through Overstock.com.

I simply felt in love with this fan, or this lamp when is not a fan. Unique design and great idea to hide the blades when not in use. Downside... the price, a bit expensive although cheaper than lowes, about $100.00 cheaper. Overall happy with the product.

We saw this fan at a friend's house and loved it. The blades retract and are hidden when it's off. Just looks like a light. The blades come out a little on low speed and expand out more each time you turn up the speed. It's a neat concept. We have it in our office for when it get's too warm in the afternoon. Since we knew what we were looking for, we shopped around. This was the best price by fifty dollars and free shipping. It was delivered within a week. So, I don't think you can beat Overstock's prices and service. It keeps us coming back.

It looks very nice, but don't depend on it for light. Very low light. I am almost considering sending it back. What is the point of a light that doesn't make light?
