I have been looking for a modern, low profile or flush mount ceiling fan as I have low (standard 8 foot) ceilings and all my current fans are flush mount. it's been impossible to find a flush mount ceiling fan under $300 that has clean, modern lines so I decided to give this a try since the downrod is only 6 inches.. I was a little nervous this might hang down to far, but it's perfect. I can touch the blades, but I have plenty of walking clearance under the fan. I bought two of these fans and liked them enough to buy two more so now all my ceiling fans match and I don't have any more of those dowdy 1980s style fans with the gold trim and ugly light sconces. The price is great and they look wonderful with all my dark wood and clean lined furniture. The remote control is a great bonus. It has an on/off switch for the light and low, med, high for the fan. The fan does not have a pull chain so you'll have to keep your remote handy (mine is attached to a light switch which will turn on the light for me). It puts out a nice amount of air in my medium sized bedroom. The light is on the soft side due to how opaque the glass shade is and because you can only use two 40 watt bulbs. But I don't want bright glaring light at night and prefer the softer light it casts so it works for me.

Liked the looks of this fan. It would be optimal for flush-mount application. Unfortunately, the rod was not a standard size and we wanted it for a cathedral ceiling.

This fan is a great looking replacement for my bedroom. We needed to buy an extra piece to mount this extra close to the ceiling because of the low ceilings in our bedroom, but using those pieces, this fan now looks great. I really like the dimmer switch on the remote

These fans were exactly what I was looking for but unfortunately cannot be flush mounted to the ceiling Once installed they hung way too low in the room. I am 5'4" and my head was less than a foot from the fan. My husband could not even walk underneath them. These were designed for a room with very high ceilings.

We love these fans! Being in Texas we needed ceiling fans in our bedrooms and we looked for months for a reasonably priced modern fan and these were perfect. They fit snug to the ceiling, you can't lower it like a traditional fan. This was exactly what we were looking for since we have standard ceiling heights in our older home and these give the illusion of having a higher ceiling because they mount directly to the ceiling. They are powerful enough to generate a lot of cooling air but are very sleek and stylish. The light in them is fluorescent and gives off a good deal of light, I believe a little more than 100watt equivalent. The remote is very easy to operate. We couldn't be happier, amazing value for the price, comparable fans we looked at cost at least twice as much.

Very stylish fan and installation was simple. The down rod is a nice feature if you plan on mounting the fan on an angled ceiling since it swivels and will self level the fan. If you're mounting it on a level ceiling the down rod will also level the fan. The kit comes with a balancing kit as well, but I didn't need to use it for my install. Fan operation is very quiet and the only noise you will hear is the air moving around the room. You'll only need to buy a fan box from the hardware store and you should be up and running in less than an hour.

Yeah, it's crazy expensive for a ceiling fan, but I think it's worth it. When the fan is off, I have a modern pendant light! Just a heads up: this thing is heavy. You're going to need special mounting hardware that does not come with the fan. Make sure you install it into a stud or a beam, because a typical ceiling fan set-up won't be enough to support this bad boy. Nothing negative to say about it; it's a great fan that looks super slick. Just make sure you have the know-how to install it!

Nice contemporary looking, low profile, with good lighting fixture. I looked at big box stores and could not find anything similar. Most either looked clunky or over designed. This is a great fan when you want something simple with clean lines that mounts directly on ceiling.

Good quality fan for someone with a flat, regular height ceiling. Color and finish are nice. Just did not work for me because I have 16' ceilings with a peaked slope.

I bought this fan to replace my guest room fan that has a burned out motor after only 5 years of light use. This fan is very sleek and the wall switch that controls the fan's 6 speeds and the light separately is so much better than pulls on the fan. If I had known it to be a Kicheler product at the time I purchased it I would have had the 24 inch down rod handy when the installer came to mount it, however he found one locally and I am very pleased that it is very steady mounted on my sloped ceiling. I hope to purchase 2 more of these fans for my master bedroom and the other guest room in the near future. It is very quiet and circulates air quite well depending on speed chosen.

I furnished my brand new condo completely from scratch, in a mid-century modern style. I have a 1950s-era medium cherry Danish credenza and highboy in the bedroom, and this ceiling fan fit in perfectly! This fan replaced a gothic style ceiling fan that had pull chains and hung down really low from the ceiling. No one knew how awful that old ceiling fan was until I replaced it with this beauty! Lovely clean lines. Very quiet. The light is not very bright, but it will do. I've got other lamps in the room anyway for task lighting. Oh, by the way, the light IS dimmable from the remote, which I think is really cool. The only ugly thing about this fan is the remote control, which is cream colored plastic in the shape of an egg, with gray buttons. I mounted the remote on the wall; not very attractive, but at least it's small. I'm thinking of getting one of those hard-wired fan switches to use with it. I do already have it hard-wired into the light switch, but that only flips it off and on, based on whatever the last settings on the remote were. So of course I need the remote for choosing specific fan levels. I love this fan. If you go to vivadowntown on fb, you can see my photos.

I have been installing Hunter fans for years. Love the style and craftsmanship. Solid ceiling mounts. The only issue I noticed but have not read elsewhere is in regards to the blade medallions not covering the rubber grommets in the blades. I followed the directions and when attaching the blade to the blade arm the grommets squeezed out from behind the medallion creating a gap between the medallion and the blade. I managed to tweak the grommets so they didn't show but have never had this issue before with Hunter fans. Still love the looks of the fan and I'm sure it will last for years.

This fan looks great once it is mounted on the ceiling. It comes with a sturdy mounting bracket which allows one person to hang it without help. The blades are cheap wood (lke most fans at this price) but they are painted silver so they look like the aluminum finish around the light. The fan is fairly low profile considering it includes a light. The remote control is a great option but the directions for installing the transmitter aren't great, so it took a bit longer than expected. The three blades (instead of five) give the fan a very contemporary, industrial sort of look. Its exactly what I was looking for. I may even get another one for the bedroom.

I'm terrified of electricity but decided to tackle this anyway by myself. The instructions were very confusing to me since they also include instructions for other fan models. Just make sure you are looking at the right model number. The only thing that was really a pain is that they tell you to put the blades on after the fan is mounted and wired on the ceiling. You really need two people to do this because you have to remove a plate on the fan and spin the motor until the screwholes are visible. This requires holding a flashlight straight up to see inside and at the same time get the screw on the screwdriver and tighten it. I managed by holding the flashlight in my mouth and i'm sure I looked ridiculous. If I did it again, I would attach the blades before and deal with the awkwardness of mounting the fan with the blades sticking out.

Kind of cheap metal finish. A bit noisy. Remote feature nice. Priced right. Nice flush ceiling mounting. Took my electrician awhile to put up.

As others have mentioned the fan blades are wood painted silver and the light is not as bright due to only two 40W bulbs. Since I installed this in my master bedroom, I didn't need something very bright since my nightstand lamps compensate when required. There was actually an issue after installling the fan, with a loud clanging noise of each fan blad hitting something in the inside of the unit. Overstock was great with getting us a replacement unit in about a week and this one works great. Installation can be a bit frustrating, the unit related to the remote control was a bit difficult fitting into the mounting unit and each fan blade needs to be screwed into the interior of the unit - flashlight was useful here. My other two ceiling fans had snap on blades and having to screw the blades in for this unit made me thankful there were only 3 blades instead of 5. The sleek design really fits perfectly with my contemporary bedroom and the quiet operation is perfect to leave it on while sleeping. Remote control allows me to adjust the fan settings and turn on and off the light from bed. What more can I ask for? Maybe just a little bit brighter light...

Installed this fan in my living room, where I was looking for a flush mount so the fan wouldn't obstruct the TV (which is mounted over the fireplace). This fan is perfect! It fits the mid-century modern styling of my home, is perfectly silent when running, and is nice and compact in size. It moves a ton of air in the room, allowing us to keep our AC set at 78 degrees—even in the hot Atlanta weather!

We were looking for a flush mount bedroom fan and the style (from the pictures) seemed to fit our scheme. My husband installed it easily and noted that this fan was the STURDIEST he'd ever installed. I casually looked for fans at our local home improvement store, and OVERSTOCK's price was a decent XX-XX% less than the lower quality fans I saw there. So, style (check!), install (check!), quality (check!), price (check!)

I needed a fan for a small guest room. This one seemed like an ideal match: clean style and smaller size blades. Once mounted, this fixture seems like a complete disaster. Honestly, you're better off getting something more styling at your local ***t. It seems ok out of the box, although we weren't sure, we mounted it anyway. As a fan it works fine, but the lighting kit is nothing short of a disaster. It can only hold a single 40W bulb. That's equivalent of a night light illumination, even in a smaller size room. Useless. The worst part is that while bulb glass cover it's held together by a wire holders and leaves a gap, so you can actually see the wires inside the fixture. Very unappealing. The fan is already mounted, so we won't be returning it because of the hassle, but it was money wasted.

We were excited to find a modern fan in nickle finish at an affordable price. Unfortunately the fan blades are a different material (wood composite?) that is painted grey instead of actually having a nickel finish. It's also important to note that this fan does not include a down rod or mounting bracket. The customer service team was very helpful with our return. In the future I'll make sure we contact them to get details prior to placing an order. The chat feature makes this very easy to do so.

Decor trends come and go, but your bedroom lighting should transcend the look-of-the-moment to suit your bedroom's various functions. Adding a recessed light above the shower provides welcome illumination while showering. Recessed bathroom lighting is perfect for the ceiling above the shower because it does not take up any space over head. A special moisture-resistant bathroom light fixture is required in the shower because the area is subject to so much moisture and humidity. You may replace an existing light fixture or install a new fixture after an electrician runs the necessary wiring. Choose a simple recessed light or select a light-and-heat-lamp combination or a light-and-fan combination.
