Both baffled filters were missing when first received the box. Called the customer support and got if resolved. Later found out one light not working and called again. They mailed a new light bulb and connector quickly. Overall ,good range hood with a lot of suction. Need to have more detailed instruction for installation. We installed it underneath the cabinet and also secured It by mounting it on the wall. But that part was not easy.Read More
Elegant style with round corner at the front, modern design with remote control, bright bulbs for cooking, solid structure with stainless steel material, and most importantly, very powerful blowers. So far I am very satisfied with this range hood.Read More
A couple days after installation, one fan and the LED on the same side stops working for a few hours and then back working. Since then everything works well.Read More
This fan weighed in around 55 pound so you need to be able to lift and lower a few times to get the screw locations as I did for under the cabinets mount. Right away there was a problem with the lights but Overstock sent me a new bulb and that was fixed. The problem is that now that the fan has passed it's warranty period it seems to be developing a personality problem. A few months ago the fan started by itself around 4 am on F4 which is full force. The same thing happened the next morning. I called the distributor in Garden Grove and they want to sell me a new electronic control board (don't ask how much). So I decided to see if I could narrow down the problem. I put the fan into its auto heat sensing mode (turns on by itself when a range of heat is sensed) and I stuck a piece of electrical tape over the infra red remote control sensor. Went a few days without any problems so I took it off auto and went a few more days so I took the tape off. Great until yesterday afternoon when it started up on F1 all by itself. I had to use the remote to shut it off.Read More
W bought the 42" version of this hood about a year ago because it was less than half the price of the U.S. made Thermador model. I figured it was probably made in China and sure enough it is. It does not appear to have either UL or CSA safety labs certifications like the Thermador does so you really donít know if the electrical or structural design has been done safely. It does look nice structurally but I donít know about its safety electrically. Because there has been no third party safety lab testing lab certification there may be a possibility to serious injury or death in using this appliance. Or there may not be. You just donít know and will need to put your trust in the hands on some Chinese manufacturer. Also, it has been my experience that the Chinese donít put enough chromium into the stainless steel they manufacture as a cost saving measure and as a result the metal will start to rust after awhile. It looks nice in the store but when you start using it in a wet environment it will start rusting. Stainless steel is not suppose to rust. I found this with both a stainless steel barbeque and patio heater we bought that were made in China. Our unit isn't showing any rust yet but it is not outdoors and we don't do a lot of steamy cooking to expose it to much moisture. The unit is not made totally from stainless steel. The top and back are made from galvanized steel. The fan motor in our unit is unbalanced and makes such a racket on the high speed we just never run it on high. Just be aware that you get what you pay for.Read More
I bought this rangehood because so many people write nice reviews about it. As Aisan, we do a lot of stir-fry at home so the powerful suction of this rangehood is very appealing to us. That is, if it is a good product. However, the prodcut that we recieved has some major defects that made things really hard for us: 1. the top vent is supposed to be 7iinch round, yet it is distorted , almost oval shape that does not fit any duct we purchased from xxxxx. We have to try a number of things to get it to fit. 2. the sensor touch button does not work. If it is the halo light bulb, it would be an easy fix; however, the sensor touch feature is build-in unit and quite hard to replace or fix. Currently the light can only be turned on using the remote control. We have contacted both overstock and Cavaliere customer service. Will see how this pans out and update the review.Read More
I wish I can give five stars. The only reason I cannot is that operation is always confusing. You need remote to switch off this system (sometimes). There is no way come out from auto mode to manual. Otherwise, this is an excellent product.Read More
We had very high expectation on this machine. It looks sleek, and claims 900 CFM. Perfect for a Chinese kitchen! We thought our dreams came true! However, after the installation, we instantly realized the fans were not powerful enough. We did a test by putting a nail-sized facial tissue paper under the hood (25" underneath), but the tiny piece of paer doesn't move! This was udner the highest fan speed (F4). Until I raised the paper within 1 inch under the fan, the machine finally sucked up the paper. We are so disspointed! I want a full refund!Read More
Questions & Answers
Hello, great question. This is 10" high.
What is the difference between this one and the other similar one :http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Cavaliere-Euro-30-inch-Under-cabinet-Range-Hood/3844985/product.html?productQuestionResponse=SUCCESS ?
Hello, I have looked at these two products and as close as they are the difference is the size of the duct vent. This one is an 8 inch and your link is a 7 inch. Have a great day!
Can you measure the deepth on the top of the vent hoover? I want to check if the top size matches our cabinet.
I hope I am understanding you correctly. The top is portion is 12 inches and the entire vent hood is 22 inches.
Does this fan vent form the back or top? I have to vent from the back of the fan
That unit vents from the top. We only have one hood that vents from the back, and it is the UC200. Those are only 300 cfm, so a third as powerful as the AP238-PS13-30.
What is the weight of the product? I need to know if my cabinet can hold this. Thanks.
The range hood weighs 60 pounds.
How to Install a Range Hood
If your kitchen could use an update, installing a range hood is an effective way to change the look and feel of the entire room. A range hood is a great way to reduce cooking odors and excess heat from your kitchen. The range hood helps prevent grease build-up around your stove by pulling the vapors from cooking up into the hood and its filters. When you're looking at range hoods, the most significant choice is between a range hood vent that vents to the outside or an under cabinet range hood that simply pulls the air through a filter. With a few tools and some planning, you can install a range hood yourself.

Sewing Machine Buying Guide
Although there are many tools for sewing, the main tool is the sewing machine. Many sewing machines are available, with prices ranging from under $100 to several thousand, depending on features. Before choosing your new sewing machine, think about which of those features you would like to use. Be sure to choose one that can do everything you would like but won't overwhelm you with unnecessary buttons and knobs.
How to Install a Built-in Microwave
Microwaves are a kitchen staple. They offer convenience, no residual heat from cooking and, when compared with an oven or range, efficiency. With so much going for them, it's no surprise microwaves are so popular. If there was ever a drawback to having a microwave oven in the kitchen, it was that the appliance claimed too much valuable countertop real estate. But ever since microwave ovens were made to be installed over the range, that dilemma has ceased to exist. Installing a built-in microwave is really not that difficult, but what many people don't realize is that they need a dedicated 20-amp circuit installed in the cabinet directly above the microwave oven for the installation to be up to code. If you're not comfortable running your own circuit, hire a qualified electrician for the job. Once you have the circuit installed, you can then install a built-in microwave.
Best Fills for Down Comforters
Warm and incredibly soft, down comforters are the height of luxurious bedding. Like all other bedding, down comforters can range from inexpensive to costly. The proof is in the filling. Inexpensive down comforters are filled with a combination of down and polyester or down and feathers. The best down comforters, which are usually also the most expensive, are full of pure, thick down. Take a look below to learn the best fills for down comforters. Hungarian goose down: Hungarian goose down is considered the most luxurious type of down. These extreme cold-weather birds have very thick, almost odorless tufts of down at the base of their feathers. This heavy, long-lasting down is most often used in comforters with a fill rating of 800, which means they can keep a person warm even in cold conditions. Eiderdown: Eiderdown is harvested by hand from the abandoned nests of Eider ducks, which pluck the down from their own backs and use it to cover their eggs. Eider ducks live in cold climates, so their down is thick and heavy. It is used in high-quality comforters with a fill rating of between 700 and 800. Eider duck down is the only type of duck down used in high-quality comforters. All other duck down is usually considered too smelly (and some duck down has tiny barbs) and is used in much less expensive comforters. Grey and white goose down: Grey goose down is used in dark comforters due it its grey color, but it is the same as white goose down in all other ways. Grey and white goose down, which is usually harvested from European or Chinese geese, is the most popular type of down used in middle-price-range pure down comforters. These comforters usually have a fill rating of 600 and above. Hypodown: Hypodown is a mixture of white goose down and milkweed. This all-natural filling is hypoallergenic and much more durable than pure down comforters. While pure down is still considered to be the preferable fill for comforters by most people, hypodown is gaining popularity with consumers who want a longer lasting product without synthetic fills.
