Great island, roomy and the extra space on the top is great. Wasn't to bad to assemble (electric screw driver is a must!). Have to emphasize that the wood is completely no finished (not even the doors) so to make it smooth, need to cover it very generously with wood oil - i would expect it for the top of the unit, but would be nice to have finished doors, sides and inner shelves. Also, the wheels won't keep the unit in one place so even when they are locked, it still keeps moving around (our 1.5 year old keeps moving it when trying to open the doors). Would be nice to have an option with legs instead of wheels since we would love to have it stationary.

If you have a kitchen that has NO built in cabinets of any kind (old farm house) and you need more counter space, I would totally recommend this. It does take about 4-1/2 hours for 2 people to put together. There are a lot of parts. It is very attractive and sturdy. The casters make for easy mobility. The storage space is a little smaller than I expected. The top is a great work surface.It's very heavy and comes in 2 boxes. Someone must be home to accept delivery. Just warning you, that was a problem for me.

Great item , looks wonderful and works as I wanted it to . Takes time to assemble and the instructions could be better. Item must be sealed with ester oil ( none toxic type ) Item is made of hard wood and is very pretty. I would recommend this item to my friends

We love our new cart, it fits perfectly and it is a good value/purchase. The wood is very nice, the hardware solid and it really is not that hard to assemble if you have all the parts. Parts, that is why this did not get 5 stars! I read where someone else had missing parts but that only happens once, right? Well, we were missing some screws and 1 large board that was needed to finish assembly. Granted, once I contacted Catskill the board was shipped right away. I understand the missing screws but how do you pack two large boxes and miss a board that is 2" x 1" x 40" long? After that is said and done, I still recommend this product 99%!

I am mostly satisfied with this product. It arrived quickly and was pretty easy for my husband and I to put together. I am thrilled with the construction of the top of the island. It is butcher-block hardwood and I love it. Some of the other features, I am not as thrilled about. This includes the drawer. Because the hardware for the drop-leaf portion runs along the underside of the top, it really affects the things which can be put in the drawer. I was hoping to house some of the utensils I use when I bake: whisks, rolling pin, etc., or cookie sheets; however there is just not the space for these items. I have some of the flour-sack towels and my aprons in there instead, but i have to make sure to position them just right to make sure they don't hit the hardware. The bottom of the drawer is not hardwood and just slides in, so it is not really sturdy construction. The upright "walls" on the inside just slide between little pegs you push into the inside walls of the unit, then there are pegs that slide through holes in the inside walls to support the shelves, so the shelves in the little side cupboards and the middle all have to be at the same height. The storage capacity is "decent". In one side cabinet, I have my loaf pans on the top shelf, and my small cake and pie pans on their sides on the bottom. The other side cabinet has my hand mixer on the top and my cake decorating kits on the bottom. The middle cabinet has my stoneware bread pans on the top shelf and my 9x13 cake pans and cooling racks on the bottom shelf. I am really pleased with having the extra workspace this offers, just a bit disappointed with some of the craftsmanship and the storage. Oh, and the fact that, even when locked, the wheels slide across my smooth floor when i am kneading my bread. I am probably a bit more picky because my dad builds quality furniture, with hand-cut dovetail corners and the works. I believe that, for the money, this is a very nice piece of furniture, and, despite some of the negatives I have pointed out, I would recommend this to a friend if they were looking for something like this on the same budget as I am.

This Island came in the day after I ordered with standard shipping so it was quick I put it together that night in about an hour and a half. It is one of the best looking islands I have ever seen with tons of storage and its great with the fold out leaf I actually got two barstools to put under it and I use this as my morning breakfast table. Awesome craftsmanship and great finish, couldn't ask for more.

I enjoyed putting this product together but it took a few days for me to start the project. I noticed one tiny error with the instructions so look ahead after each step. I have not emailed the company yet to inform them of the error. The end product is not finished but it is absolutely beautiful*** Well worth the purchase. This high quality product is difficult to find now days. I was nervous spending this much money on a product that I did not see in person first but I am happy I did. I suggest measuring the area and make sure that there is enough froom for this 100 peice 3D puzzel. it is a bit smaller then I imagined but works perfect. Enjoy this product- use the right oil on it and have good patience putting it together.

I wwoild recommened this product. It was shipped in a timely fashion, it took a few hours to put together but worth it. Parts were not labeled but easy enough to figure out. I love the extra cabinet space and eating area. Some small bar stools fit perfectly under the leaf. I love it

my wife and i bought this because our tiny little studio apartment has close to zero counter & cabinet space. this is a quality product, and has really made our cooking life so much easier.

I have been looking for two years for the right piece to match my custom cabinetry. This definitely was what I was looking for! I was considering the smaller island but opted for the larger one. It still seats two at the eating space, but it provides a little more elbow room. The wood is beautiful but a little dry! Be sure to oil it. Two doors had to be replaced, but the company quickly sent out two new doors. Their customer service guy made recommendations on oiling it so that it will fully match my alder and hickory cabinets with a satin finish. I was quite impressed! I'm thrilled with this purchase and would recommend it - and items from this company - to everyone!

Very nice island...easy to assemble via good instructions. I had missing parts and Craftsman sent me the parts needed, no questions asked. However, it took nearly over a week to receive parts. Yet, still I'm very pleased with the island I ordered.
