  • This is a REALLY GOOD Dresser.

    We are just SO impressed with this dresser and overstock!!! It was delivered in three boxes that weighed 70lbs at least each. With free shipping. That right there is worth something. We were looking at dresser at West Elm, Create & Barrel, anywhere we could think would have a modern clean well built dresser. We took a chance with this and so glad we did. I took two nights to put together but I only spent a couple hours each night. Not hard at all. I was SOOO surprised it is ALL hardwood except for the sides of the inside of the draws. Everywhere else is solid wood. The front of the draws, the dresser top, sides, all the support frames, everything solid wood. It looks so clean and modern. So So worth it!!

  • Solid Piece of Furniture

    Took me hours to build but when I was done, it was well worth the effort! Just a note: I got carried away with the middle drawer divider and used the wrong screws 3's instead of 2's or vice versa. I had used one screw for the side panels and just assumed that the middle panel had the same screws... (A LESSON FOR ME TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS PROPERLY NEXT TIME!!!) Anyway, in the end it was a quick fix and I didn't have to take the whole thing apart. The end result is that I have a roomy, solidly built dresser drawer set and it looks GREAT!

  • Modern and Solid Built

    Purchased this for my daughter's room. Wanted a solid built dresser to withstand many years of use. Beautiful finish on the wood (nice solid black) and attractive hardware. I had looked everywhere (and forever!) for a solid black dresser with a modern edge, you can't beat the price or the quality. Of course assembly is required and time consuming, but you save $$$ - totally worth it. Shipped fast as usual!

  • Catalina dresser

    THis dresser looks great, is a very solid piece of furniture( and heavy). It took a few hours for my husband and I to put it together. I recommend putting it together near where you are going to use it, as it is extremely heavy and cumbersome to move. We bought it for my 14yr old daughter and she loves it! It has tons of drawer space! A great purchase!

  • poor instructions

    i was amazed at how many pieces this dresser came in - directions not correct, wasted time with following the directions only to find out they were wrong. for what this dresser cost, i would have thought more pieces would have come assembled....i am not kidding - even the drawer glides were not attached. the piece itself is ok, but plan on days for assembly.

  • Really nice set of drawers, but...

    I had ordered the catalina nightstand and love it. So I decided to match it with the 6 drawer chest. However, I had the worst luck with shipping. I missed shipping twice, had to wait a weekend to finally get all the boxes. Once I got them, one box was falling apart and as a result, 4 pieces inside were damaged. I only noticed 3 were damaged and asked overstock to replace them. The next day, I noticed the 4th damaged piece and immediately contacted them to add that on the replacement order. I waited 10 days, finally got the replacement order, but the 4th piece was missing. Even though they said my 4th piece was in their notes, it did not get processed. So now I am waiting for the 4th piece which will take another 10 days. As a result, I've had a partially assembled chest taking up valuable space for almost a month now. I am usually a very big fan of overstock shipping and their customer service, but this item has not been worth the trouble. As for the dresser itself, the style is nice, but the side drawer pieces split when you screw in the rails. I'm hoping this doesn't fail me in the long run. I added a screw in the middle because the wood doesn't seem to split there, but ran out of spare screws to do all the drawers. Otherwise, if I ever get this finished, I can tell it will look nice and the large drawers will be able to fit quite a lot.

  • Rubberwood exterior, MDF drawer construction

    The dresser is OK, but for the price (plus 10-12 hours assembly time) it is not a terrific value. The top and sides are rubberwood, but the drawer sides etc are MDF. It's the MDF that makes the piece heavy. The drawer glides rattle. You could probably buy a similar dresser at a big box furniture store the same price or less.

  • Great Dresser

    It took ages to set up (3 hours) and we didn't have enough screws but otherwise this piece is gorgeous. I didn't think it was going to be very big but was surprised on how large it was. It's also very sturdy, all wood dresser. I saw this dresser at a store and then at overstock for $300 cheaper! Totally worth it!

Last time I ordered from overstock I ordered the Yaletown 5-drawer Black Chest as well as the six drawer dresser. I have had them for about a year and the bottoms have already fell out a little too easily as well as come off the rails without being able to be put back on. I am curious as to the interior of these drawers and is it that thin wood material base or something more durable and stable. lurban51 on Aug 31, 2013
