    These dishes are heavy and will probably be fine for everyday use, my problem was with the color. They are definitely dark brown. Not a hint of red. I am a little disappointed and will probably end up giving them to my son.

    My family has used Corelle dinnerware for as long as I remember. Now that I've moved into my own home with my own family, I can't imagine purchasing any other brand of dinnerware. Corelle dishes are really light (they're not ceramic), and do not break easily. Always an excellent buy

    I was so excited when I purchased my new white dishes made by Maxwell & Williams. They look so cool, fresh and crisp and I loved the shape of the mugs and the bowls. Approximately 4 months after purchasing them the bread and butter plates developed grayish marks on them as if the finish was wearing off. I had seen this happen to the dishes that I had had for over 20 years and replaced with the MW dishes. This caused me to examine the rest of the set. To my horror (buyer beware) the dishes were so inconsistent in their weight (I did actually weigh each one) and the ridges on the rims of the plates and bowls. Some pieces have a very fine, definite ridge and others have a smoother design. In other words the quality control for this product is poor. I was and still am very disappointed. I had planned to use these for everyday but also for dinner parties. I now have to interchange the bread and butter plates with plates from a different set because the MW pieces are so worn looking.     We have now had these dishes for a year. They have held up very well, minimum scratching, great in dishwasher, lovely look. If you don't like heavy dishes though, these might not be for you. They do look lovely on the table.
