Wanted lighter weight bone china over heavier stoneware/porcelain dishes. These clean, smooth-lined dishes fit the bill! Durable and attractive with many types and patterns of dishware. Great for everyday and entertaining.

These dishes are beautiful. I have been looking for a set that was not what you see in every store. Most dishes out there are earthtones, busy patterns or too heavy. These dishes are stoneware. I heated my dinner up in the oven last night and the plate was fine. Oven to table to dishwasher is true. These dishes are light enough to carry a few at a time without feeling like you are carrying weights. The finish (glaze) is completed onto the bottom of the dishware. These are the dishes that I was looking for, so glad I checked on Overstock.com because it only took me a few minutes to find these. I placed my order on a Thursday night and they were at my door that Saturday! Perfect dishes for my new home. I also ordered the cereal bowls (4). The mugs feel good when drinking coffee. You won't be disappointed. I am thrilled

I was SO excited to get this Sango Vertigo dinnerware set, I couldn't wait to tear the box open and when I took the pieces (ever so gingerly out of the box) each piece was in perfect condition, with nothing broken, and no chips or scratches. Yay! So I placed the set in dishwasher and they made it through in tact. (great! they passed the first test, LOL!) Then my husband and I ate our oatmeal in the bowls and used the microwave to heat it - and loved it! (2nd test passed! whoo-hoo!) The striped pattern is SO pretty with all the various colors, and it looks like pottery from (as my husband says: the '90's - no idea where he gets that from)... but all I know is it's very hand painted "looking" if not truly hand painted; I guess that's the "reactive glaze" at work? It makes each piece look VERY individual/unique. I also LOVE the large square plates, I've never had square ones before, although I do worry that the corners may chip eventually -and also they just barely fit into my kitchen cabinets (phew! - lucky break there), that was a super-tight fit, but they made it! The bowls are larger than our previous ones, and the dinner plates are just enormous! While the cups or mugs are just small to medium sized (at least for what we are used to) - we have oversized giant mugs that we drink our morning coffee in. I do feel that the mugs won't get used very much if at all, since we love our giant ones - BUT if we have company over, we may use the ones from the set for consistency's sake. I also like the fact that the inside of the mugs & bowls are black - that's unusual as I've always had dishware that was white... I will say it was dificult to me to make the decision between the Sango Vertigo and the other Sango's with the diagonal stripes - I am still wondering if I would've liked that pattern better, but my husband said to go with the Vertigo so I said ok.. If we determine that we really love this set, there's a slight possibility we may order another one, (for backup in case of breaks, etc.) Ok, one (TINY) peccadillo here - not about Overstock, but I noticed that o.com advertises these dishes as "Stoneware" (which is what I wanted) but nowhere on the actual Sango box does it say "stoneware" - however, the bottom of the dishes does in fact say "dishwasher & microwave safe", I just wish it was more obvious if these are in fact stoneware or not, (I believe they ARE), just wish thet Sango said so on their box). I LOVE Overstock - so thanks for my lovely dinnerware set!

I have owned these dishes for 5 months now and I hate them... I can't believe how terrible they are. I should have returned them when I first got them because 2 of the cups broke, then when I called Overstock and they sent me relacements, those too were broken. Finally on the third attempt and several reams of bubble wrap were they able to get them to me in one piece. These dishes are more fragile then dishware I've gotten at the dollar store and are not worth the nearly $$$ they are asking. They claim to be made dishwasher safe, but when you put them in the dish washer the paint comes off, I even had a bowl chip away. So we started washing them all by hand, yesterday I was washing a cup and the handle broke off while I was cleaning it. I wouldn't recommend using them in the microwave either because the microwave cooks the plate and not the food, so when you pull it out, the plate burns your hand but your food is still cold. I paid $$$ for my last set, which was genuine stoneware, I could even put them in the oven up to 450 degrees. If these were cheaper, I would only recommend these for decorative use.

Love the Sango dishware. Exactly as described. In addition, this set came with bonus ice cream dishes.

This is my first set of dishes purchased. After much deliberation me and my wife decided on these. When they arrived by UPS to our surprise all were intact (which is more than i can say about the matching french onoin soup bowls). We love the dishes, they are very well built. They are a very solid dishware set especially for the price!

Okay...so the UPS delivery guy says he had to repair the shipping box and even with his repairs it looked like it had been drop-kicked off a cargo plane!!!!! My husband had ordered the set for me as a Christmas present and he was so worried about the condition of the shipping box, and the mess that would be inside, that he had me open it up and check the contents. Wow....I have to hand it to Overstock.com.....whoever packed this box of dishes knew exactly what they were doing. Inside the mainly destroyed shipping box was a small fortune in bubble wrap around a secondary shipping box. Within this box, were several smaller individual boxes and within those boxes were dividers separating every piece of individual dishware. Not one piece of dishware was broken, scratched or marred in any fashion!!!!! Congratulations to Overstock.com on making sure that my dishware was delivered undamaged and all I have to do is wash it and serve dinner on it tonight.

Very disappointed with the quality of the product. I received 8 place-settings as wedding gifts 02/12. 10 months later, I have one salad plate left. Each cup has chipped along the rim or had the handle fall off. I'm sure you can imagine how unpleasant it is to be carrying a cup of coffee and have the handle break away. My plates have chipped or cracked from everyday use. My family isn't rough on dishes and the inexpensive Corel Ware we bought from ******* is holding up nicely. Though the dishware is beautiful I will not purchase replacements.

I owned the full Sango Nova black dinnerware set before, and loved them. I sold everything when I moved overseas. I'm now back, and when I went looking to buy dishes again -- well, I saw Sango Nova black was still for sale, and I didn't find anything new I liked better, so I ordered these. These were not labeled "rejects", but they should have been. The pattern is just not right, and it makes the dishware boring. It just looks like black outsides and white insides, and that's about it. Some places have the faint green around the edges that should be there, but it's all off-center: one side of a plate will have a lot, while the other side will have just a narrow band. I don't know what happened with these, but they don't look as they should. I kept them because I couldn't be bothered to repack all the dishes and carry the giant, heavy, fragile box back somewhere to ship. If I'd known these would look like rejects, I wouldn't have ordered them.

I originally received this dishware as a gift almost 10 years ago. Over the years, several pieces broke (thru moves, mishandling, etc.). So instead of purchasing a whole new pattern/set, I wanted to add to my existing set. I searched the internet for days and finally found this set at Overstock. This set was by far the best priced and actually came with the extra ice cream bowls that normally must be purchased separately. So happy I found this. I was expecting one or two pieces to break in transit but all items were very well packed and they arrived quickly in Perfect condition. This set is the exact same color and pattern as my original, but there is a slight difference in the pattern. However, not very noticeable as my family didn't realize it until I pointed it out. This was my first purchase with Overstock and I got this at a great value. Super impressed with Overstock.
