I bought this to finish out a 16 piece set I received for a wedding gift. I like the colors and the weight of this dinnerware. I use it for both casual and formal dinners.

All I can say is these are the best everyday dishes that I have owed in 20 years. Great value for the money. They are durable, good size without being heavy, do not get too hot in the microwave. Can dress them up or use casually. Love them. I ordered two sets and I think I am going to buy a 3rd!

My son and daughter in law asked for these dishes as a Christmas present. I was skeptical about buying such nice dishes for a family with young children, but was pleasantly surprised at the quality and durability designed into these dishes. Best of all they are elegant and can be dressed up or down.

Lovely dinnerware looks great on a casual table. I wish other serving pieces were available.

These dishes are stunning. A beautiful blue color with an almost pewter edging. You won't go wrong with these in your cabinets!

Love these dishes! There are off white, heavy so won't chip easily, microwave safe and beautiful! I had been looking at Pottery Barn's Emily (?) pattern but read reviews that they chipped easily. So glad I went on Overstock and found these. I liked them so much I ordered 3 sets. Depending on table setting, they can be formal or casual. They arrived 2 days after placing order and the packaging was unbelievable. Box inside of box inside of box.

These dishes work very well for everyday use and casual entertaining. They are tough, light-weight, yet look more substantial than Corelle. Plates and bowls are large, yet stack nicely in the dishwasher. One dinner plate rim arrived slightly 'off' curve on one side (hardly noticeable), but overall I am very pleased!

Dealing with Overstock was a dream. The dishes were delivered and not a one was broken. They brought the "French Country" vibe we were hoping to add to our summer cottage. Love them and was thrilled with the service.

This is fun and well made set of dishes. The price was excellent for this particular brand and all of the dishes arrived well packaged and not one dish was broken, chipped or cracked! That's saying a lot for this fine china. Again, I am very pleased working with Overstock.

I bought two of these dinnerware sets for my 26 year old son who moved into his first place. I had ordered two other white dinnerware sets online from other retailers, but had to return them due to poor quality or the fact that the dishes were a ghastly blue white color. By contrast, these sets were wonderful -- the French White characteristic of the Corningware line, and a hefty feel that can withstand the type of use it will see in a "guy-house". Unlike my other dinnerware purchase disasters, all the pieces arrived in perfect condition due to excellent packing and the durability of the product. I like that this dinnerware coordinates well with the French White bakeware line. One buyer's warning is that these dishes are quite heavy, similar to the heft of the bakeware. So probably not suitable for elderly with arm strength issues. Perfect though for my son and his crowd of friends! Hoping these sets see some long wear in my son's household!

Exactly what I wanted! One dish came broken. Use the online help chat. They were so nice as usual (the best customer svc anywhere). My new dish was shipped the next day unbroken!

These dishes were in perfect shape upon arrival and were quite beautiful. But I did not keep them because they were very large and heavy--I couldn't tell that from the pictures. And I want to say that the staff that I talked to about the return were very pleasant and helpful. This was my first purchase from Overstock.com and I will not hesitate to buy again!!

I bought this dinnerware set with intentions to use it for casual dining, but when I got it I realized it would be great for any occasion. The dinner plates are large, which makes the set great for Thanksgiving dinner. Also, the colors are rich and the design fits in well with my ethnic and eclectic decor. My only complaint is that the beige coffee mugs don't have have the same pattern as the plates.

This is a classy set of dishes to use everyday too. I love the soup plates, European-style. Color is off-white. The dishes look just like on the picture.

I love these dishes. Great for dinner guests or casual dining. They do have a wide lip which I enjoy. I have served soup and salad in the bowls. Some reviewers thought they were too shallow but my guests and family enjoy them. Overstock sent them promptly without any damage. I ordered three sets so I can entertain friends and family. I did have to store them in a corner cabinet that was deep enough for the plates. They are oversized.

Dinner tables are set differently depending on the type of dinnerware and what food is served. Casual dinner table settings provide each person with the three basic pieces of silverware while formal dinner table settings provide guests with a separate piece of silverware for each course served. Plates, bowls, silverware, napkins and glasses are all part of the necessary dinnerware for setting the table. Having separate dinnerware sets for both formal and casual dining events is very helpful for setting the table appropriately.

Many bowls and plates are considered microwave safe; however, if you use the wrong dish, you could ruin both the dinnerware and the dinner. Microwaves are convenient appliances, but there are a few precautions you should know about when it comes to your dishes. Always check to see if a dish is microwave safe before using it in the microwave. Some containers can break, melt or scald you. Some containers can also damage your microwave, such as foil-lined containers. Microwave-safe dishes can be used to both cook and store food. Non-microwave safe containers can only be used for storage or serving.
