Product Reviews for:
3.7 out of 5I was very disappointed when this product arrived. If I was purchasing this product in a store where I could see it I would have passed it up. I purchased a different base locally last year and it is by far better than this one, and it was cheaper. It is almost twice as heavy and much better quality. I wish they had two of them. When it arrived, ther were several areas where the paint was removed or damaged in the shiopping process. I had to touch up those areas and quetion how durable the base is really going to be in the wether. The quality of construction for the casting is poor, where several of the details are just one massive clump. And there are no rubber feet on it like my other base, to protect the deck. So I will have to try the local hardware store for a remedy. A disappointing purchase at best. I would have purchased locally hands-on if I could have found what I wanted.
Where this product looks really good,I quickly discovered that the shaft that holds the umbrella is plastic. It is not heavy enough to withstand a breeze. The screw cap covers immediatly came off. .And for the price I would have expected it all to be cast or at least heavy enough to do the job.
While the base is good looking, it is not heavy enough to prevent tipping when the unbrella is free-standing. Used under a table, it's fine.
Fell over in a still night, with umbrella down. (my other umbrella in a different stand has been fine for 5 years)Turns out the hinge point between the verticle piece and the base is cheap plastic and it snaped. Don't bother with this one - its not a bargain
I have been looking for an umbrella stand for my tiered patio umbrella (purchased last summer on Overstock and an excellent product) for about a year. This one fit the bill - came well packaged - nice and heavy, good paint job, good looking, and quick to assemble. My only (minor) complaint is that the 2 turn-key screws that hold the umbrella in the stand don't fit the umbrella as "snug" as I'd like - but so far, we've had several really windy days and no problems with a toppled umbrella. The price was reasonable for the product's quality, although I admit I was a little dismayed to see a slightly smaller stand of similar weight and quality at a discount chain store last week that was a little less expensive. Overall, though, if you do a lot of patio entertaining like we do, then this is good investment that will last many years.
I love the look of this base however as soon as I put my umbrella in it and a slight wind came up - down went my umbrella and stand... I would recommend a heavier weighted stand!
the workmanship was not great - the white paint was chipped in places. The base is nice and heavy and easy to use to install the umbrella, though
expected more for XXXX. cannot say i'd reccomend this product.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? ok
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. upright is spot welded to base. I had to have it rewelded twice. finally repaced tube altogether. Rusts terribly. primed and repainted to stop that. base is of ok weight for upright umbrella use only, but diameter is too small, allows umbrella to topple if tilted.
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? ok
I was disappointed with the product. It didn't properly support my umbrella

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and weight of this umbrella base. We have high winds in our area at times and were most concerned that the weight of the stand with the umbrella in place would tip. It was tested by the wind a few days ago and didn't tip or move at all. The stand will accomodate a narrower pole with the plastic insert in place or you can take it out, as we did, and fit the larger diameter poled umbrella (purchased at Overstock) in without any trouble. Excellent quality and price.
Nice heavy umbrella base. Nice looking, goes well with my painted aluminum furniture.
What can I say? It's a sturdy umbrella base. If you need an umbrella base, it's fine!
looks great fits with the lighted umbrella that i bought from overstock and came in no time at all. It's great!
Very nice - good weight, nice looking, easy to use!
Just what I expected when it was ordered. Matched the patio furniture that I had and easy to assemble.
Easy to assemble, looks great. The exact item for which I was searching. Heavily constructed. Great choice of colors. The price beats out all local store prices for "near" similar items; plastic or otherwise.
I love my stand; it looks perfect with my new umbrella (which I also bought from Overstock at a good price). It matches my patio furniture and adds class to the total ambiance.
Product looked just like the picture, but it was way too light to hold up our umbrella by the pool.Soft winds blew it right over. I am sure it would work fine under a table. I guess if we needed a heavier base we should have gotten a solid one instead of the cutouts.
Do not even think of getting this item. It was broken on a second day of use.
My umbrella pole doesn't fit into the stand unless the plastic ring on the stand is removed. I will have to find some putty and make a rope to put along side of the pole where it goes into the stand, as water will get into the stand and there isn't any way for it to drain out. I have to say, I am disappointed. If I didn't catch the stand's diameter as well as the umbrella's then it's my fault. The stand is heavy, but it does have a smudge of rust where the stand pipe goes into the base. I just hope it doesn't rust onto my composite deck. I think I can keep the water out, but if the paint isn't any good, I might consider painting before the first time it rains. I think it's over priced for what I got, but it is like buying a "pig in a poke". I love Overstock and if you read my other reviews, I am usually a very satisfied customer. This and a wall mirror I sent back are about the only two items I have had second thoughts about. If your umbrella pole fits and keeps the water out, you should be fine. I can't say I have spent much time checking umbrella stands, so some of the problem is my own... especially if the diameters were given.
