Overall, this sundial is a nice addition to a garden or lawn, but its best when seen from a short distance. It is heavy enough to withstand moderately strong winds if set on a solid base (e.g. paver block) and its sandy beige color adds a nice contrast to a lawn or mulched flower bed. The assembly should not be too difficult since it only involves a couple of screws to attach the upright on the face of the sundial and placing the sundial into the base. However, I was disappointed with the quality of the paint and actual fit of the sundial. It did not fit properly into the base--extra space on one side and too tight on the other-like the base fell over and was out of round. I was able to force the dial into place with a rubber mallet. Also, there were spots where the bare metal showed through the paint--fairly easily fixed with closely matching spray paint, but it shouldn't be necessary with a brand new item. With a little closer attention to details like a good paint job, I would consider this product to be a fairly valued and attractive item. While not terribly expensive, it does cost enough that things like a poor paint job should not be an issue.
nice quality with a good price. i would recomment this to a friend.
This is a somewhat classy, more unusual garden decor device. It was a little weird to put together, especially as I had so much hardware left over afterwards I really wonder if the right instructions/hardware set was sent w/my item: Maybe the hardware included belonged to a different sundial. But it seems sturdy. Of course, it does have to be placed on as flat a surface as possible, doesn't need to be concrete, though, as I have mine sitting directly in the dirt high up in the yard (I have a sloping landscape).
