    Much to my dismay, the tops were both hideous, nor did they fit the jars correctly. I painted the tops silver and antiqued them a bit to cover the original finish. Now they look good, but come to find out they do NOT have a tight seal. I wish I had checked that first. I would have returned them.

    I bought these canisters for my new home because we are surrounded by birds here and we love it. I thought the birds on the top were jst darling and they look even better in person. The seal is very snug and that's good to keep everything fresh inside. I love the way they dress up my counter and would highly recommend if you have enough space for them. They are large and heavy so you need a big kitchen.
