Cool lamps
These are really heavy cool looking lamps. The height on a nightstand is perfect for being able to reach the switch from bed. They look to have a really nice quality - my only issues is that the base doesn't seem to be Made of actual wood. Honestly it looks more like plastic to me but they still look very nice and I would have bought it anyway even if it were plastic instead of wood. They look very dramatic in my remodeled bedroom - I love them!

- How accurate was the on site description of the product? The wood base is actually some sort of fake wood-like substance. It almost looks like hard plastic.

Harp upgrade required
Purchased two of these for nightstand use. They are sturdy and an attractive contemporary design. The 'wood' is composite with a brown laminate finish. The shade harp is too small for a standard three-way CFL energy saving bulb. If you plan to use a three-way bulb, you will need to purchase a larger harp (under $10 at the hardware store).
