The picture does not do it justice. It was not intended to become a focal point but it did. Everyone that enters the room has something positive to say about the lamp. However, it does not provide much light. It's more decorative than functional.

This lamp is beautiful and gets more than its share of compliments. I have it in my bedroom and with the base lighting it adds a relaxing element to the room along with beauty. My only criticism was the holes in the top of the base didn't line up properly with the inset and I had to bend the inside frame slightly to fit. Other than that it is a great buy and a beautiful and unique piece of furniture

I think this lamp is great for the price. You can either have to lamp shade light on, the shell base light on, or both on simultaneously. I was curious on the color when I bought it. It is the oil rubbed bronze, but it is very close to black. I'm glad I took a chance and bought it. It will look great in any room.

I love this lamp. It's the perfect fit for the dark corner in my great room. It looks just like the picture and is very easy to assemble. I've had many compliments on it and you can't beat the price!

This looks as pictured, but the base is made of a cheap wood/plastic something and not the oil rubbed bronze, as expected. I eneded up returning it because of this weird finish that looked dirty when I took it out. It arrived unharned, but was packed poorly, unlike the other overstock purchases I've received this week. Box had holes in it and the top was open. It does look like the picture, so if you are aware of the material in the base and like the look then it may be fine... just didn't meet my expectations.
