If you are looking for US made espresso machines you will not find any. Best ones are made in Italy and for non-commercial use the best were stopped making about 10 or 20 years ago. If you are able to spend upwards of *** or *** dollars, and more, then you are buying into commercial quality. Still, not American but Italian. What most of us can afford are Chinese. I have this Capresso EC Pro, bought locally with discounts and it was around $***. I have had it for about a year or a little more and I am a daily user. I grind my beans and have tried with different size grinds and always tamp it (55mm) down tight. I always have used distilled water to avoid having to descale it. This machine gives a good brew if you are patient and learn how to use it. It will teach you. Still, with all these precautions, mine is now developing a leak around the head seal which I cannot fix. Now looking into replacing the group head gasket if I can find it and I hope that is the cause for the leak. If not, it's back to shopping for another machine again, but not the same. I think I'll spend the big bucks this time.
