Solid wood - not exactly
The bench is a really nice size and the color is also very nice - dark stain that matches the picture online. The storage area is a generous size. The bench will fit 2 adults or 3 children. We plan to use it at our dining table for grandchildren to sit on. Our main complaint is that the bench is not technically "solid wood". The seat, front and sides are veneered MDF. Also, some pilot holes for screws were not pre-drilled as stated in the assembly directions. One side of the seat/lid was pre-drilled for the hinge but the other side was not pre-drilled. My husband figured it out and was able to still assemble it.
