Cappuccino Leaning Ladder 45-inch TV Entertainment Console

I loathe being the first to buy/review something on overstock but this was the only TV stand that looked vaguely appealing and was smaller than average. The shelf was not tall enough to allow me to put my receiver there so I had to leave the shelf out and turn the other vertical pieces so the shelf holes faced into the door compartments, so you don't see unsightly holes in the middle compartment. There are no shelves behind the doors. The color is completely different than on my monitor. It is not a teaky-orange danish modern color, it is a rosewood/dk. cherry color. The middle area measures 18w x 17d x 13 tall, 6.25 inches tall for each half if you use the shelf. The bottom TV stand part is about 17 inches high with a 2 inch border around the edges. It goes together fine with low quality camlocks and skinny short dowels. Lesser quality than I*EA. A sore point for me was the lack of holes for cables drilled into the back. The back is a very hard material (like thinner clipboard material) that we used a saw on to cut holes in. Most people don't want to break out the hole saw attachment for their drill to get holes in something that is supposed to be an entertainment center. Additionally aggravating is the fact that the front edges of the feet are not finished, so the particle board is visible to your guests. I am not sure what I am going to do about that. The upright supports come in two pieces so you could use this without the top section. The join where you screw the two pieces together is very visible and is highlighted by how they cut the wood (beveled) so it looks extra stupid. We may take the top off and cut off the extra height of the sticks and just use the bottom. It is all veneered particle board with MDF doors and solid wood uprights. They give you brown plugs to hide the camlocks and they are not the same brown as the unit and look tacky. While I like the end product for the bottom, once you put the top on it looks cheap so I am not sure I can recommend it.
