I loved this teakettle at first, but I left the stove on a little too long, and the bottom burnt up. I would assume that the paint would hold up well against heat, since it goes on a stove, but the paint disintegrated and melted/chipped off afterwards. I was afraid to continue using and threw it away.

Product arrived quickly & in perfect shape. Given as a gift, its recipient was greatly pleased & commented positively -- and loved the sound of the "whistle."

The service was fast and the price was excellent. I would purchase from Overstock again.

So disappointing. It's a cute kettle, but it doesn't whistle. Bummed.

Boil my water for French press coffee every morning and this tea kettle does that just fine. Don't however expect a whistle. This kettle actually sort of hummmms - which is actually not a bad thing as some whistling kettles can be akin to a shreik and harsh sounding. You do have to pay attention the low hum so you don't burn up kettles as I have in the past.

I am very disappointed in this teakettle. It is beautiful in appearance, but they should drop "whistling" from the title...The kettle does not whistle and that is an important feature for me. I would not recommend this product. nanny bj

It works great. The kettle's nicely made, a convenient size, and the whistle works great. In fact, the whistle may be my favorite feature... It's not shrill, the sound is fairly low pitched and something like a harmonica.
