This was my first purchase with Overstock and I'm pretty pleased. The item shipped within a few days of order, arrived within 3 weeks of order. There was some cosmetic damage to the shipping box, but I didn't see any to the unit. Unfortunately it did scratch the headboard a little, but the damage wasn't serious at all and is hardly noticeable. The footpegs were a little beat up, but again it can't be seen once assembled. Overall it looks really good and feels extremely sturdy. I'd buy it again.A note on assembly. It really wasn't too bad, but did take some time. FOLLOW THE GIVEN DIRECTIONS EXACTLY. Specifically when it tells you to take the provided brackets off of the side rails and attach to the head and footboards loosely before reattaching back to the side rails. It doesn't seem like it would matter much but it does. This thing is a tight fit. If you have a ratchet set, get it out. Would have sped things up a lot.

Very nice bed. Heavy and pretty well packed. I was able to set the bed up myself in about 1.5 hours - a but tricky, as described in other reviews, but well worth it. Very solid and looks like a million bucks. I would expect this to last a very long time.

I love this bed frame!! buuuutttttt, it was such a pain to put together and it took me HOURS!The reason I give the frame 4 stars is because of the assembly. It really made me question why this product ended up on Overstock and if I ever wanted to purchase any other furniture from O. It's not O's fault that this frame will have you sweating and ruining a manicure just to put it together.Overall, BUY THE FRAME... it's quality, quality quality, but set aside some time to put the footboard and side panels together. Like someone else said, angle the footboard... I would take it a step further and say attach the footboard at an angle to the side panels, then attach the pieces to the headboard.The ending result.... pure beauty, high quality craftsmanship and elegance! i'm happy with my purchase just not the sweat equity -LOL

The bed is super sturdy (no wiggling headboard like in all these I've seen at stores) and looks very "rich". The only thing I'd like to warn you about: you need real tools and a pair of strong (man's ?) hands because attaching the footboard is tricky: it looks like the wholes in the metal corner attached to the sideboard don't match the wholes in the footboard, but they actually do, you just need to insert the screw and an angle and tighten it so that these two pieces are brought together by force. Trust me - I work out and I could not do it - I had to ask my b/f for help screwing those screws in.But it's doable and probably this is one of the reasons why the construction is so sturdy - there is no wiggle room at all. Which is great.I LOVE this bed! :) <br> PS Notice that there is no "oversized item" surcharge which means your bed arrives quickly and you don't have to deal with overstock's "oversized item delivery" policy. But poor UPS guy who had to drag three heavy boxes with bed parts into my apartment! :)

plus: looks as nice as the picture. comfie headboard to lean against. Seems very solid.cons: lots of cussing necessary when assembling the bed. The holes that the feet screw into do not line up well and for one of the feet we eventually had to just forget about the second screw. Big tip: you have to loosen the brackets which secure the four corners and come attached to the footboard/headboard before you can even think of lining up the brackets with the siderails. Even so, the screws did not line up well and when we finally got them to fit, they often did not screw in well, but kept hanging up. Assembling it was such an ordeal that I decided never to buy anything at Overstock which I could not return. easily.

i read all the reviews on this bed before i bought it. it went out of stock and i was devasted but then it came back about 3 months later... they (manufacturers) took everyones comments to heart in regards to assembly. most of the rails, bolts etc came pre assembled. the only difficulty we had was with assembling the side rails and foot board. we had to get the pieces in an odd angle (30 degrees) in order for the angle and bolt holes to line up, but once we figured that out it was a breeze. now the bed is gorgeous and a great value. i would recommend it to everyone. my family and friends can't believe i got such quality without seeing it in real life first. if you're thinking about it ..don't, just get it, you won't be dissappointed, dont' wait for it to go out of stock...

I love this bed. I have never wanted to be in a bed more thatn I do now. It looks great, comfortable, and it is very well put together. The directions were not as explantory as i thought they should have been, but you eventually have to use common sense. Great buy.

I PURCHASED THE BED FOR A GUEST ROOM AND I AM VERY PLEASED. THE LEATHER IS GOOD QUALITY AND WE DIDN'T NOTICE ANY SMELL. SOME OF THE BOLTS AND NUTS CAME LOSE IN SHIPPING BUT IT DIDN'T AFFECT THE BED GOING TOGETHER EASILY...JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND DON'T TIGHTEN THE BOLTS TILL THE END.....THE BACK OF THE HEADBOARD IS ALSO UPHOLSTERED WHICH WOULD BE GREAT FOR THOSE THAT DON'T WANT TO PUT IT AGAINST THE WALL. THE RICH DARK BROWN COLOR IS VERY STRIKING AND PROVIDES A GREAT NUETRAL BACKGROUND FOR OUR NEW TRANSITIONAL GUEST BEDROOM.

I read the reviews before purchasing and decided to give it a go. Bed arrived quickly in three boxes. I did have a torn footboard but one phone call to Overstock.com and another was shipped out to me. Assembled the bed last night, took less than an hour. Have to say, this is the sturdiest bed I've ever seen. Everything fit great and I am completely happy with it. Looks great. Headboard has no "give" like so many headboards do, no wobbling at all. Supper sturdy. If you like the look of this bed but are concerned about buying sight unseen-don't be. I am pleased as punch!

Obviously from the other reviews, the bed is extra sturdy. I use the lowest box spring and a 12 inch mattress, my bed is about 36 inches high and I did not adjust the hardware to a lower setting ( I didn't know you could). It is so gorgeous in my room, it has been transformed. This is the first time I have purchased a bed, (I am 23) and this was a good choice especially at Christmas time. I will agree with the other reviews that the bed is a perfect queen and that there is no give room.Instructions were vague when it came to screws and hardware labeling, but I never use directions anyway so I figured it out easily. I had to read the reviews when they said you HAVE TO UNSCREW the slat thingys to install the footboard because it seems that it just doesnt work, but IT DOES! Also I was missing the stabilizers and still have not received them yet but I still put it together and have selpt in it. It will be easy and not too heavy to get under when I receive them. I called overstock and they were extremely helpful and gave me $20 toward my next purchase for my inconvenience, so I'm happy!

I originally wanted a platform bed that was not open under the frame, that would prevent dust from accumulating. When I saw this advertised it allowed for mattress or mattress and box springs. I took a chance and bought it. I got delivery within a week, and the quality is unsurpassed. The leather is smooth, padded in the right places, and even on the back of the headboard. It is extremely sturdy, uses metal for the slats instead of wood, and looks like it cost thousands of dollars! Since the side rails are padded leather, you don't hurt your legs as you would if it was wood or metal. Assembly instructions are less than adequate. You must use some common sense. Also, loosen bolts on brackets first. I was going to buy larger brackets until I realized I just had to loosen them and it would fit. Took me an hour and a half to assemble. Was definitely a wise purchase, and I am extremely glad I bought it.

I have been looking at this bed for several months. Not eager to jump in and order furniture that I have not seen assembled somewhere! Anyway, finally ordered it for my son's room. It arrived in three boxes. All the parts and pieces were there. My husband and I put it together in less than 1 hour! The key is to loosen the brackets prior to set up and making sure that there is a second hand on deck to assist with holding the pieces in place. The bed is AWESOME!!! It not only looks incredible, it is sturdy as well which will come in handy with my 21/2 year old jumping on it!!! It is perfect! You will not be disappointed.

This bed is definitely the centerpiece to my bedroom. Love the quality of the leather, the color, the style ... amazing really. It got to me in a relatively short amount of time, well within a week. The only challenge would be assembly. It definitely behooves you to include another person in the operation, though I unfortunately did it by myself. It comes in 3 heavy boxes ranging from 70 - 80lbs each. Don't open the little one until last, it will be the metal slats to support the mattress and it is awkward and heavy once unpacked. So leave that for last and unpack next to your bed. It took about 3 hours overall to assemble, but I can imagine it would take half that time with another person. Overall, love this product, think bang for your buck, it can't be beat, 100% satisfied.

Okay, i sat on the fence about this bed for a month before taking the leap. Buying funiture, sight unseen, gave me pause. But after reading every review (thanks everyone) I took the plunge. I am sooo happy with this purchase! The quality of the materials are over the top, from the steel slats, to stich grade on the leather.Now for the 2 star ease of assembly. its not that its mechanically overwhelming, it's the unclear one page instruction sheet. It does not have a complete item list to check off. and nothing is accurately pictured on the schematic. You can easily go wrong or think you have missing items. This is an easily correctable thing and hopefully overstock will address it.***the instructions say you have two center supports which look rectangular, when actually you will have four center supports which look like mahogany rolling pins***Aside from that hour headache, you're gonna be wowed for alot longer. Not to mention that it feels like it's something that'll last forever. I've seen other leather beds in stores and not-a-one has this kind of construction and they often go for a heck of a lot more $.Thanks O/S you've once again come through!!!

This bed is amazing! The leather is rich and soft and the bed is VERY sturdy (built with steel). I agree with everyone's comments about the assembly - it was a little hard, should have 2 or more people to help... but once it's done, it's done in about an hour and a half and it is GORGEOUS. Definitely worth it for the price and quality - a great buy.

I am a pretty picky buyer and this was a pretty good buy. The bedframe came in 3 boxes, 50lbs each. It's pretty good looking. You should decide what height you want it at before assembling it all together or no big deal; you'll just have to unscrew and screw on the side panels holding up the bed. It wasn't hard to figure out assembling the bed, but it does take some work and two people working on it would be better since some of the angles have a funky fit. Remember to loosen some of the bolts when you are assembling other bolts in the same section. My pillow top bed seems so high up, but we quickly got used to it. Now the bed is pretty much the focal point in the room. Pretty bed....

We love our new bed. It looks nice and makes our bedroom very stylish, The assembly of the rails to the footboard and headboard may require you to unscrew the brackets from the sideboards and screw them first to the footboard and headboard and then screw them back to the sideboards, After I did it all, assembly went very smooth. I could screw everything properly and it looks just beautiful and feels very sturdy.

I love the item but unfortunately I was unable to assemble because of missing hardware. My mattress is on the floor and I hope that the replacement hardware arrives soon!

It would be good if the assembly instructions would detail that 18 of the screws needed are already in place so you should find the other 18 in the package. Unfortunately, the plastic bags containing small parts were sliced so they were loose in the boxes and we thought we were missing half of the screws needed. The holes on self assembly furniture are often slightly "off" which makes assembly a little tricky. My husband said we can never move because he never wants to put the bed together again. It's pretty to look at and feels great.
