Cafe Black Rug (2'3 x 11'9)

First, the size of this rug is 29", not 27" wide. I measured prior to ordering so I would be sure it would fit inside a doorway. My door way is a smidge over 28" wide, so I ordered this rug believing that the described width of 2 Feet 3 Inches or 27" was accurate. It's not. I am keeping it because I was able to pull it out a few inches and make it work. (and waited almost a year to find this color combo and pattern style for my kitchen!) Second, this is the stiffest rug on earth. Plan on several attempts over several days to get this thing to soften up and relax. My husband was jealous how much attention I gave this rug, rolling it this way and that way, reverse rolling it the short way, the long way....etc. I have done everything humanly possible to get this rug to lay flat, it will not and never will without extraordinary human effort. I do have a helpful hint, that gets the edges and stubborn corners to lay better, but not completely flat. Turn the rug over, wrong side up, place the edge / corner between 2 bath towels and steam iron it briefly, this will soften the rug enough so you can either manually bend/roll it to flatten out. I broke a sweat fighting with this rug. Wait at least a day to give the rug some time to warm up and relax before you try fighting with it. Finally, I had to use double stick foam tape (I have porcelain tile floors) on the corners and short edges of this runner to keep people from tripping, because every time someone tripped, they brought the edge up again. PROS: The Quality of the rug is very good. It's a berber style and the colors are very neutral, nothing odd or strange to report, it's black, tan and a rich brown. It's not perfect, but for the total $ incl shipping, the value is excellent. Label info: Made in Egypt by Surya. 100% polypropylene. CONS: ACTUAL SIZE IS 29" WIDE AND YOU WILL HAVE TO WORK TO GET THIS THING TO LAY FLAT.
