ButtonTufted Leather Ottoman with Shelf

This lovely leather ottoman is HORRIBLE!!!! Arrived today and i was excited. Thought it looked decent for the money--trying to be realistic. Opened it up and began to assemble. Huge chunk taken out of the wood that was obviously glued back on and laquered over for starters. The second is a second chip in the edge of the wood that was covered by furniture coloring and finally a nice deep scratch on the underside of the shelf and one on the 'right' side of the shelf both 'concealed' poorly with black marker of all things!! :( BUYER BEWARE---Shame on Overstock for this one. Sadlyt, this is the last time i buy from the O.

The ottoman I bought for my client had a "high point" in the middle of the ottoman instead of being flat and even...I'd say a tray would have trouble sitting completely flat. It didn't bother the clients, but it had a bouncy bubble feeling when sitting on it as well...not sure I would want that in my room...It does look handsome, though...

tufted buttons fall off even with very minimal use. repaired once, then a few others came off nice look, very easy to put together

The ottoman arrived on time and was well packed. It was quite heavy, so it took both me and my husband to move the box. The ottoman was very easy to put together; after unpacking it took us less than ten minutes to assemble. The only minor issue we had was aligning the holes on the shelf with the legs. We ended up having to turn the shelf a few times to get the best alignment and it took one person pushing against the shelf while the other one attached it to the leg to get the last hole aligned and the leg attached (for this reason, and the weight of the box, I would recommend two people for assembling). The wood on the ottoman is a dark wood (as shown) and the "leather" is a dark chocolate brown with some distressing on the edges. It is the very well made and does not look "cheap" at all. However, the item name is a bit deceiving as a I do not believe it is real leather (I knew this from reading other reviews so I knew what to expect). The piece is very sturdy and feels "solid"...not wobbly at a ll. It is comfortable to sit on or put my feet up on. It is over-sized, so it is perfect with my large sectional. Overall, I absolutely love this piece - it is a wonderful addition to my family room. I had been searching for an over-sized ottoman and for the $$$ I think this is a great deal. This is my third purchase from Overstock and I have not been disappointed. I love the consumer reviews, and to date, have found them to be right on the money.
