I purchased two of these for my family room as extra seating for my son's friends. They were easy to assemble and look beautiful. One of the seams is not perfectly straight (hence the 4 stars rather than 5) but otherwise they appear to be well constructed. The two benches also look great pushed together to be used as a coffee table. I loved these so much that I moved them out of the family room and into my office area. For now the kids will have to sit on the floor...

First off, this bench is quite sturdy... more like solid as a rock and as heavy! The construction is done properly, the buttons snug, and stitching seems top-notch, and I am picky about furniture. Most stuff out there is absolute crap. This is NOT crap. Kiln-dried hardwood is one of the hallmarks of quality furniture (as is double-doweled and corner blocked, but I confess I didn't check that bit). The feet are absolutely beautiful and also solid wood. Very elegant lines, (obvious from the pic, and yes, it does hold up "in person"). In comparison, many other benches I viewed didn't have that sense of solidity and high quality, having scrawny legs, thin tops, etc. I would expect this to still be in good condition and just as useful in 50 years or more. The only drawback is that the leather has a decidedly greenish tinge to it, which cannot be refuted. I have many cream and white things of which to compare it, and it is nowhere near any of them, and it has nothing to do with the lighting of the room. Given the price and the high level of quality in the construction, I will keep it and get some "leather magic" dye from the site of the same name, and make it the exact off-white color I want. Many people have braved using it in their very pricey cars, with stunning results (even repairing scuffs and tears in the leather). Leather Magic will custom-mix it to match a patch of leather or vinyl, or even a paint chip from the hardware store, as well as match leathers from most car interiors (I'll probably go Jaguar's Ivory or match the trim of my living room). It may cost another 35-50 bucks and some minor effort, but it will still be WELL worth the price! For the record, I've no personal interest nor affiliation with the site mentioned.

Another great piece from Overstock. Very pleased with the quality and I put it to the test in my busy children's photography studio. Much better quality than pieces coming out of the trendy furniture retailers. A great buy.

Looks way more expensive than I paid for it. A friend thought that I bought it at a really high end store where she bought one similar for a lot more.

I BOUGHT ONE IN CREME AND ONE IN RED. THE CREME WAS PERFECTLY CREME. IT HAD ABSOLUTELY NO GREEN OR YELLOW UNDERTONES. ASSEMBLY WAS VERY SIMPLE: JUST SCREW ON THE FOUR FEET. THE HEIGHT IS PERFECT FOR THE END OF A BED. IT'S THE PERFECT HEIGHT FOR PUTTING ON YOUR SOCKS AND SHOES WHEN DRESSING. IT IS REAL LEATHER--DON'T LET THE PRICE FOOL YOU. IT WLL SCRATCH (NOT SO NOTICEBLE ON THE CREME ONE), AND THE LEATHER IS THICK. KEEP IN MIND, IT'S NOT BUTTERY SOFT TOP GRAIN LEATHER, SO IF THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR, YOU MAY WANT TO HEAD TO THAT RETAIL STORE WHERE A VERY SIMILAR OTTOMAN SELLS FOR $$$.

I like the modern look of this tufted bench, and I'm happy with my purchase, generally. We had a particular aesthetic we were going for, and spacial limitations that did not let us do a chaise sectional -- so this separate bench was a nice generous size that solved these issues for us. And it looks low, loungey, and swank. :) However (and this is partially my fault for not noticing the vertical dimension listed), the height of the bench is slightly crazy. Nobody but a kid could use a 14" high seating space -- adults just can't comfortably squat down that low -- at least not with dignity. And when sitting on it, they would be much lower than others sitting on couches nearby (at a more-standard height closer 18" or so). That's just weird. So, I immediately jerry-rigged some 8" legs onto the unit, instead of the 4" ones provided. There are a few ways to source these -- and the finished bench looks great and even 'floatier' than before. But it was a bit of a pain to find that I had to take those steps. Color, leather quality, and stitching were all fine, and I'm very happy with the price/quality ratio. Picture looks rather off-white, whereas the real thing is a slight touch more buttery than that.. All in all, though, the only thing I would warn people about is the odd height provided, apparently, for gnomes. I could solve it to my satisfaction, but not all consumers would be into that.

The only thing that could make it any better is if it were actual leather. I'm very happy with it and it looks great in my living room.

I LOVE this bench. It is my favorite piece of furniture. And now I find myself needing storage. When I bought this, overstock had it on sale for $$$ and now that it's REALLY cheap at $$$ I wish I could get another one, but I just ordered a storage bench. You are going to LOVE this piece. It frames out the end of a king size cherry wood bed beautifully.

This is a well made beautiful piece of furniture. The color is just a smidge lighter than pictured, but it is perfect for me. I found a chair that is the same color and they look great in the same room. It sits low, so be aware of that.

For the price I expected nothing better than naugahyde, but not only is it real leather, it's really high quality, almost patent. I've seen this exact same ottoman in furniture stores, even discount ones, with a much higher price tag. Would order many more if more colors were offered, but then that's why it's at Overstock.

Expect very low to the ground. Nice quality. Not too yellow or buttery. A good cream color. I just went contemporary and this fits in well.

Bench arrived in great shape and legs were easy to attach. The color is a little lighter than the photo, but I knew that from another review. Great value.

Great quality for the price. Decent quality leather and firm padding. Will have to wait to see how it holds up over the years, but is exactly what I wanted for my entry and feels sturdy. Looks very sophisticated, clean, and transitional. Have gotten many compliments on it already. Don't notice greenish tint in my location.
