This butcher block is perfect! It's very sturdy and came assembled. I found this product at several different sites but Overstock had the best price. ...very, very pleased!

The butcher block cart is beautiful and the quality seems to be fairly good, particularly the thick butcher block top. However, one of the shelves was assembled incorrectly when we received it - the slats were mounted crooked, so the shelf couldn't be installed as-is. We were going to call and have the shelf replaced, however, my husband unscrewed all the slats, re-drilled them and assembled it correctly. It was a bit of a pain, but he had it fixed the same night I received it, rather than going through the hassle of getting a new shelf. I think the price is a little high, given the sub-standard assembly, but overall it's a very nice piece and exactly what I wanted.

Easy to assemble...looks great with my remodeled kitchen. Looks more expensive than what it cost. Once again Overstock offers a great product at a great price within a week of purchase.

This table is better than it looks in the picture! It is very heavy and well made. The assembly was simple and easy to do. It seats two people easily and makes a wonderful addition to my kitchen- as a breakfast table and as a work station. A great product!

the table is sturdy and he heaviness and thinkness of the butcher block top is exactly what we were looking for. my two sons ages 22 AND 20 ASSEMBLED THE TABLE WITH LITTLE TROUBLE, WORKING TOGETHER. working together made it go smoothly and we are very happy with the result. the two boxes it came in were delivered super fast- faster than we anticipated in fact.

This cart took a long time and challenging to assemble, but our in house mechanical engineer was able to do so in about 4 hours. It works well for additional counter space in a small apartment. We don't move the cart around alot and I would be concerned if I needed to regularly move it around. It doesn't seem that sturdy. But as a side cart to add space, it works well.

I absolutely love this Butcher-Block table. It is solid (very heavy) and the wood is beautiful. It is just what I imagined it would be like. It was not difficult to put together. I just had to be patient and follow the directions step-by-step. The drawer assembly is very nice and the wonderfully wide drawer glides in and out beautifully. The price was several hundred dollars less than I found it anywhere else. The quality was also much better than any of the similar pieces that I looked at in stores. I am thrilled with this purchase!

This is a very easy assembly job. However the bottom support brace wasn't properly affixed. to the bottom leg. Some epoxy fixed that. Overall very sturdy when it's together. Still the design of the bottom support slats makes me think the upward limit of how much this think could carry is probably 150 - 175lbs. That's plenty for a kitchen cart of this size. The top wood isn't terribly thick but it's not too little either. Just enough. I certainly wouldn't chop thing on it directly. Much too glossy for that and you'l ruin the veneer quickly. If you want to put a cutting board on top of it though it will be an attractive unit for that purpose. Anyway at the price it's a good item would recommend.

I shopped in my area but did not find a cart in the dimensions and style that I wanted for my kitchen. So I looked online. This one was perfect for my needs. It came quickly. Be aware that the box is HEAVY. UPS left it on my front doorstep and it took all my strength to bring it inside just a few feet. I am a single woman and I needed the help of a friend to assemble it. It's so much easier with two people/4 hands. The instructions could have been a little more detailed in my opinion, but with the help of my friend we worked out the puzzle. It is well worth the time to go to the Catskill Craftsman website and watch the videos on how to assemble - otherwise I would not have had a clue. The quality of the material is very good and once it is put together this cart is very sturdy. I am impressed with this made in USA product! One part had a problem with the holes not being drilled in the correct places, so I called the company and they shipped the replacement part immediately. I love my new butcher block cart!!

The assembly was straight forward. The butcher block top had two small gouges in it. At first I considered sending it back, but after it was together, the damaged areas did not show. The screws for fastening the top are too long, they would have poked through. I had shorter screws on hand. Overall the kitchen island looks pretty good and was reasonably priced.

Not fun to assemble but very sturdy and nice looking. This island has been a life saver in my kitchen. The butcher block on it is done wonderfully.

Once assembled, this cart was beautiful and looked great in my kitchen. Very good quality. However, be prepared to spend around 4-5 hours assembling it. My father, who's constructed many pieces of furniture, found the instructions useless -- none of the parts were labeled and the drawings weren't detailed enough. We essentially put it together through guesswork. It came out great, but given how stressful and time consuming it was to make, I'm not sure I'd order another product from them.

Good looking piece of gaget for the Kitchen, assemble was a challenge when it come to attaching the butcher block to the cart. Need to call the manufacture for an alternative solution.

Love this cart! Beautiful hardwood, substantial butcher block top. I would have preferred the butcher block be unfinished so it could be used to cut food without a cutting board. Also, some pieces were a bit off-center, but the assembly went smoothly in spite of this. I would recommend this item. Great price too.

It took over 3 hours to put this together, mostly because of vague directions. The drawer doesn't fit correctly (rubs on the top) and one of the wire baskets is missing a weld at one of the wire ends to the rim, but I have that basket facing toward the wall. I think I could have bought this already assembled for about the same price somewhere else, but I would have had to drive around a lot to find it. But it's useful and I'm satisfied with it.

Before I ordered, i asked if this cart required assembly. The reviews were mixed and the description stated "assembled". My question was answered and it was stated that it was assembled. You cannot imagine my surprise, when I opened the box and saw that it was completely not assembled!!! As both my husband and I are not good at assembling, we had to pay someone to assemble. He even could not believe all the parts. To make things even worse, there were parts missing. I called the number for Catskill and they sent the missing parts with no hesitation. They also stated that none of there products come assemble. I called Overstock.com and made them aware of this and have since noticed that the description has changed to assembly required. The cart is nice, but not worth the money spent to assemble.

This is a beautiful kitchen cart. The wood matches my kitchen cabinets nearly perfectly and the cart is sturdy. I purchased this product to use as a microwave cart and it seems fine for that purpose. However, this product needs to be assembled. Not being handy myself, I hired someone to put the cart together for me. He has put many things together (being a handyman and a contractor) and he said that this cart was the most difficult kit he has ever assembled. The directions are poorly written and confusing. Also, the wood needs to be treated a special wood oil to preserve it. The contractor was so frustrated, he called the company to complain about the poorly written directions. If you buy this product, be prepared for a difficult and frustrating experience assembling your cart. I'm glad I finally got my cart, but if I had known how hard it was going to be to assemble, I would have ordered something else.

We had two wrong pieces and the company was very quick in supplying us with new parts. When we went to assemble, I realized that we now had three of the same side, so we received the wrong piece again. It may have been ordered wrong, since none of the pieces are marked and it took forever and many times double checking to figure out what was right and what was left. My husband was a contractor and it still took several hours to assemble. We had to make do with the wrong piece, no biggie. But the instructions are mostly a series of hand drawn pictures and you are on your own to figure out what's front back or side. The piece is nice looking and fits nicely into the space we ordered it for. Holds a lot and seems kind of sturdy. But the wood came in various shades and apparently unfinished. I expected the top to be unfinished, but the rest of the cart is going to get filthy next to the stove unless I finish it. The front drawer is duel colored, top half light pine, and bottom half is a dark brown. But the bottom will get painted. I don't recommend it because of the million pieces and the difficulty putting it together.

Up front, anyone ordering this island needs to know that assembly will be very time consuming and involve a lot of parts. It arrives in two flat, heavy boxes and took about three hours for one person (an engineer) to assemble with a second person staying one step ahead reading instructions and organizing components. You will need to supply your own hammer and screw drivers. The directions are ok - some sections were not clear and took longer than necessary to figure out. But if you take your time and carefully read through everything first, you should be ok. Once the unit is assembled, it looks very nice - solid wood with a substantial butcher block top. So why only four stars? Despite being happy with the piece, the effort to put it together definitely weighs into this review. Also, I would have liked for the back of the unit to have the same smooth finish as the front and sides. Instead, it is more unfinished with a slightly rougher feel. Since I am using this as a breakfast bar in the center of my kitchen, the back is visible. If you will be placing this against a wall, then it won't matter. Most people will never even notice the difference but just know what to expect if you plan to keep the breakfast bar extended. If the features suit your needs and you are up for the challenge of assembling this, then you will be happy with the end result.
