I was thinking about using an induction cooktop in my kitchen remodel, but wanted to try induction cooking before investing. I bought this unit as a test and after my kitchen is complete, I figure I can use it as an extra burner or outside for a cookout on the patio. I was very pleased, both with induction and with this unit. Please take the time to get used to induction so you use the technology to it's best advantage. I liked it so much I bought a high end European built-in induction cooktop. It was an excellent way to test and I love my induction stove.Read More
Questions & Answers
Hello CaptCharles, thank you for your inquiry; you will be contacted by Customer Care.
As for boiling water....how will induction compare to a gas cooktop?
Hello jjinyancey, this should boil water just as well as the gas cook top. Thanks for shopping with us. J.E
How big is the heating element? How big of a pot can you use on it and expect to get even results over the entire pot contents? Can you cook an omelet on it and not have it burn in the center?
Thank you for your interest. The heating element is about 8 inches in diameter. It is suggested that you keep the pot under 10 inches (and bigger than 4 inches). The heating is fairly even over the cookware, so it would not burn the omelet in the center. Please feel free to contact us again with any further questions.
Is the size given the size of the cooktop surface or the counter hole size for installation?
The dimensions are for the overall size of the product.

A cooktop is one of the most frequently used and essential appliances in the kitchen. Different from traditional stoves, cooktops are independent cooking devices, separate from traditional ranges and ovens. Cooktops can be installed into kitchen islands or over built-in ovens -- anywhere there's space and power available to do so -- and are designed to integrate into kitchen countertops for a contemporary look.

How to Install a Built-in Microwave
Microwaves are a kitchen staple. They offer convenience, no residual heat from cooking and, when compared with an oven or range, efficiency. With so much going for them, it's no surprise microwaves are so popular. If there was ever a drawback to having a microwave oven in the kitchen, it was that the appliance claimed too much valuable countertop real estate. But ever since microwave ovens were made to be installed over the range, that dilemma has ceased to exist. Installing a built-in microwave is really not that difficult, but what many people don't realize is that they need a dedicated 20-amp circuit installed in the cabinet directly above the microwave oven for the installation to be up to code. If you're not comfortable running your own circuit, hire a qualified electrician for the job. Once you have the circuit installed, you can then install a built-in microwave.

They say the kitchen is the heart of a home, but in many homes, it's also the biggest source of energy waste. Creating an eco-friendly kitchen includes your choice of appliances, but it also goes beyond that; the floors, paint, pots and pans, and other kitchen items you use can make your kitchen eco-friendly as well.
