I needed more counter top and storage in my small kitchen, this fit the bill for sure- the hubby & I were able to put it together with minimal arguing. It looks great (in red).
YOU WILL NOT REGRET HAVING THIS PIECE IN YOUR HOME. IT IS HIGH CLASS LOOKING AND THE COLOR MATCHES PERFECTLY TO THE MCKENZIE BUTTERCREAM CHAIRS. THE DESIGN ON THE DOORS OF THIS PIECE JUST PULLS TOGETHER THE CHAIRS LIKE IT IS MEANT TO BE TOGETHER. IT WILL SHOWCASE A FEW BEAUTIFUL PIECES INSIDE WITH BRIGHT COLORS IN THEM. THERE IS NOT A PLATE GROVE WOULD BE ONLY THING I WISH IT DID HAVE BUT I PLAN TO PUT IN SOME BEAUTIFUL HAND PAINTED LOOKING PORCLAIN PICTURES AND LARGE CUPS. THERE IS NOT A LIGHT IN IT AND WISH IT DID HAVE THAT BUT IT WOULD REQUIRE TWO LIGHTS SINCE THE SHELVES ARE SOLID AND NO GLASS AND I LIKE THE SOLID SHELVES BETTER SO LIGHT FROM DINING ROOM SHINES ON THE INTERIOR ITEMS EASILY WHEN IT IS ON. I DO NOT MIND THE PLEXIGLASS SHELVES AT ALL. YOU REALLY CANNOT EVEN TELL AND THEY ARE BUILT INTO THE FRAME OF THE DOOR AND MAKES THE DOOR EASIER TO OPEN AND CLOSE WITHOUT A HEAVY PIECE OF GLASS. This buffet is great, we use it as a statement piece in our living room. Looks like it came right out of the Pottery Barn, very nice quality and well worth the money. Plenty of storage space, can also be used for a big TV stand.
If anyone is looking for a a server/buffet table. This is perfect! My husband and I are using it for a coffee station. The drawers and cabinets work perfectly. It is sturdy and fits great. I love how narrow it is yet fits any thing u need on it. Anyway back to the important news. All the reviews I read complained about the instructions, I wish someone had clarified what they meant! So a girlfriend and I decided to but it together. I opened the instructions, the pictures were very clear and it all made sense and couldn't understand why someone had an issue. I realized however at one point we had put a part together wrong! The problem with the directions is its not clear on how to lay the boards down and which way to hold them. If I had known that I would have used a little more logic in assembling it. So it's quite simple if u think about how it goes together and knw before hand that the directions are not clear on how to hold the boards. So with a brain and looking out for the missing ...
I really love my hutch. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. It fits perfectly in my dining area. It was just what I needed. I have a very small kitchen in my apartment and no cabinet and counter space, so this hutch was a good fit. I have recommended Overstock.com to all of my friends. PS It took my fiance a couple of days to put it together. Lol
