I was going to buy this because it came with the 1-7/8? AND 2" Hitch balls - so you could swap them out, which is great if you need to tow different trailers with different size couplers. HOWEVER, upon closer examination of the product it states that it comes with a ¾? Hitch Pin. (This was difficult to find this information because it wasn?t in the description of the item. I had to zoom in on the picture to find out the size of the hitch pin.) Everything I've learned about towing states that Class III Ball Mounts requires a 5/8" Hitch Pin. As a matter of fact, the Installation Instructions for the Trailer Hitch Receiver for our 2010 Toyota Highlander states ?WARNING: Use only a 5/8? diameter hitch pin with locking device to secure a ball must in this receiver.? After some research I couldn?t even find a ball mount that uses a ¾? Hitch Pin. I strongly recommend checking with your towing resource to make sure you are using the correct hitch ball.
