This thing is study
I am glad that I read the reviews and knew it would be Charcoal and not black as the pictures appears. Still it is a very attractive bed if you like a bold graphic look.This is a super sturdy bed. I had no difficulty assembling it. It took me and my boyfriend less than an hour. NOTE: I have not seen another review mention that his bed has TWO height settings. The picture shows just a mattress. However, if you intend to use a foundation as well like I am, you have the option to assemble it at a lower setting to accommodate the additional height. This really shrinks the space under the bed, but I don't need a step ladder to get into the bed.

Great, Sturdy Bed at a Cheap Price
The bed arrived in two separate boxes and is quite heavy. Assembly took about an hour but the bed is made very very well and all the support pieces are metal. It went together very easy and looks great. I was worried about the headboard not being comfortable if sitting up in bed but to my surprise my head rested perfectly either between the metal or on the top rail of the headboard. It is very comfortable and paired perfectly with Overstock's 14 in. king size memory foam mattress. What a great deal. Always a plessure shopping on Overstock!!

the 2 boxes came sooner than i expected.. all parts were there.. easy directions.. took my boyfriend less that 2 hours to assemble.. very strong sturdy.., a lot of cross bars to handle the 2 box springs and mattress...very asian looking.. matches my decor.. i love it!!

Makes a statement
This bed makes a statement. Simple, classic, and sturdy. My husband put it together in an hour or so. It is heavy though, but that is a good thing! You get a lot of bed for the money!

No surprises
We have had the bed for almost a month. It was not difficult to assemble though we made some mistakes with selecting bolt sizes (us not them, use a ruler to select the right bolts if you are not infallible at eyeballing size). The bed looks terrific and feels extremely sturdy. It is high enough to accommodate our wooden under the bed drawers on rollers. For the price it is in an incredible deal.

Sleep like Royalty
It had been several decades since I slept on a metal framed bed. I recalled the squeeks, rattles and rocking, so it was with some dred that I ordered this bed. Well its' been a few months now and the dred has fled. This bed has been one of the best buys I have made from Overstock. The color is a stately grey. The design, matches the design in my new windows (which is why I bought it). The Bed can be assembled two different ways, high or low. I chose high for the new foam matteress, also from Overstock. A socket wrench sure helps with assembly which was easy but time consuming. A metal 'slat' was bent when I recieved the bed. I called Overstock and recieved the wrong piece. I put the bed together with the bent piece and have not had a problem. I would say this bed is rock solid except for all the holes in it. I was skeptical that the slats would properly support a foam matteress but it does and there has not been a squeek or a rattle and it has not budged even a fration of an inch and I am 6'1", 230 lbs. I am impressed. I am also well rested each morning.

As already noted in other reviews--this is more charcoal in color. My intentions were to paint it an espresso color to match my wood furniture, but it seems to go well with the brushed nickle hardware that is on my furniture. It is shipped in 2 heavy boxes.Had to open the boxes and carry pieces to the room because it was too long & heavy. I put it together myself. Wasn't bad-it was work, but I am pretty handy. Would have been easier with another person. It is very solid. Minor creaking.
