terrible wast of money
from new york ny,  Feb 1, 2009

only had this piece for about a month already shaky and the click clack to convert from bed to sofa is broken. Don't waste your money invest in a real sofa!

Watch Out
from Washington DC,  Jan 15, 2009

The back of this can not sit flush against a wall because of the back legs. It sticks out a good 8 inches. Its embarrassing. Especially in a small studio apartment like mine.

Looks nice, but don't sit on it
from Lake Elsinore, CA,  Jan 10, 2009

This one seemed to good to pass up- oops! The sofa/futon looks great, but it is not comfortable. I really regret buying it, and am not interested in trying to return it since it is so huge. What a mistake. You get what you pay for sometimes.

Excellent purchase
from Birmingham, AL,  Dec 29, 2008

For a small apt, and recent break up, moving out with little comfy furniture, this piece takes the cake.It is truly awesome. It was a little difficult to put together only one of the brackets were hard to line up but was relatively quick and painless. My dog loves it too. The color is better than the internet picture.I found a fleece backed micro-fiber blanket in my stuff that nearly matches perfectly to cover it for the dog and dressed up the arms with extra curtain panel cut in half that fits perfectly and won't slide off.I may buy another one for the bedroom since my bed is less comfortable than the couch now.Thank you Overstock for making this Christmas move/break up a bit easier with comfortable furniture.Happy Holidays to all.

Great Buy
 from VA,  Nov 5, 2008

We put this couch in a loft which has severe height constraints. The couch fits perfectly. It does sit out from the wall about 8+ inches (the way the legs are shaped). But even in our narrow room this wasn't an issue. The quality of the couch is really good. It's solid and comfortable for sitting and sleeping. The material is soft and the color is a nice neutral one. Previous reviews described the assembly to be quite challenging. And I guess because we knew that was the case, it didn't seem so bad. Assembly does require a second person for minimal support. Switching from couch to bed is really easy. It is necessary to pull it away from the wall to make it into a bed (maybe another few inches only). It's a really good value for the money!

great value for the price
 from DC,  Nov 5, 2008

This sofa is attractive, comfortable, and functional. It's a great value for the price. That said, nobody will mistake it as a high-end sofa. It would work perfectly in a family room/den or a guest room. As for me, I plan to use it as my primary sofa for a year or two while getting settled until I can afford a higher-end piece. The sofa arrived in six business days and the pieces were in perfect condition. The limited instructions (one drawing) can be confusing. As a novice furniture assembler, I would have been lost had it not been for my friend who has many years of experience putting together furniture from a well-known Swedish furniture store. Because of her, we were able to assemble the sofa in just under an hour. Some of the screws were a difficult fit, but with some extra elbow grease we got them all in. Two of the screws, labeled "J" on the instruction sheet, had stickers on them with the label "D". But in the end, all the screws fit tightly into all the pieces. Recommend making sure the folding click-clack device is in the down position before attempting to put the sofa together. (My sofa arrived in the package with the folding device in the up position.) No tools are needed other than the included allen keys for assembly. Because the back legs stick out quite far, the back edge of the sofa back is 11" from the wall when in the up position. The front edge of the sofa back is 17" from the wall when in the up position. I'm thinking of getting an 8" or 10" deep console table to put behind the sofa against the wall. Otherwise, it is an odd empty space between the back of the sofa and the wall. Overall, I recommend this product.

It takes too much space because of its legs which are extended behind at least for a foot.It was very hard to assemble and very uncomfortable to sit. It is ok to sleep on it for a couple of nights but do not get it if you are looking for quality.

Good couch
from Wahsington DC,  Nov 14, 2008

Excellent couch... however assembling was rather difficult and longer than expected. NOTE TO ASSEMBLERS: don't tighten screws until the very last moment when the whole thing is bolted and screwed. Color was better than on screen. Nice and firm couch for a great value.

Nice for a den or a dorm
from Baltimore, MD,  Oct 29, 2008

This is a nice little couch - good for a den or a dorm room. It's very comfy as a slightly larger than twin sized sleeper. As a couch it's not the most plush, but with a couple of pillows, totally liveable. As a previous review said, it does sit quite far from the wall when its in couch mode....which is why its pictured at an angle here. In any case, you can't beat the price, and it looks REALLY great! Don't know about the assembly b/c husband did it...but he did it alone and i didn't hear any cursing, so it must have been pretty simple.

comfortable sofa
 from NYC,  Oct 22, 2008

it is very very comfortable and stylish. assembly took a little muscle power, and because of the design the back of the sofa is about 9" away from the wall. But I love it anyway

Nice sofa
from Kansas City, MO,  Oct 17, 2008

Okay, so the assembly instructions were screwy (pun intended), but not too bad...it hasn't fallen down yet! It looks nice and although isn't the most comfortable, it's a good deal.

Difficult Assembly
from Washington, DC,  Sep 23, 2008

The couch looks nice (It looked even nicer once we bought pretty pillows to add some color and design), but the assembly was near impossible! I took one look at that sheet of paper with the "instructions" on it...and was completely in shock. There's no written instructions, just arrows that point in the general area that the screws are supposed to go into. Also, all the screws look alike, so you have to pay VERY close attention to make sure you're using the right screw for the right hole. It doesn't even explain how to lay the back back to form the bed, but once you play with it and figure it out, its easy. (You have to push the back as far forward as it will go, then let it push backwards). Also, two screws popped out when we laid it back for the first time...and we still have no idea where they go. We've been using the couch regularly since then though, and it hasn't caved thus far...so hopefully its fine.

We love it!
from Cocoa Beach, Florida,  Jun 16, 2008

A little tricky to put together but it's worth it when done....love the lay down feature. It does sit away from the wall about 2 feet b/c of the back legs & need for space to lay flat but still looks stylish...it's a great buy given the versatility. Would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't so hard to assemble.

Just what we needed.
 from Ohio,  Jun 15, 2008

We recently added a guest room/office to our house and wanted something that would function well in both circumstances. With one week until a visit from my mother in law, we ordered this sofa bed with high hopes that it would be long enough and comfortable enough for her to sleep on-- and easy enough to transition back to a couch during he day. It arrived quickly-- within 5 days, I think. We assembled it pretty easily-- there were one or two screws that were misaligned, so my husband has to do a bit of retro-fitting to make them work-- but most of it went together quite well. My mother in law (who is tall) said the bed was actually very comfortable and she didn't have any problems switching it from a sofa to bed and back.

tight fit
 Jun 11, 2008

Only complaint is that the frame holes and the leg screw holes have a very tight fit. I broke a sweat putting it together because I had to stretch and push the frame to make everything fit, but the sofa looks nice after all of my hard work! It's not the most comfortable bed and definitely needs additional cushion if you have a guest sleeping on it. Shipping was very timely.

great couch for price
from Englewood FL,  Jun 7, 2008

I received my couch in about 5 business days. (I couldn't believe how quickly it arrived.) The micro suede was in excellent condition and much prettier than the picture. My only frustration was the directions. The lack of directions was at times frustrating, but I managed. The sofa, when folded down, is the perfect size for the occassional guest. The couch is worth the money. If you are looking for a fold down sofa for the occassional guest, buy this one. It was relatively easy to assemble, comfortable, and looks nice when in its upright position. It definitly is worth the money.

Loving it!!
from Philadelphia, PA,  Jun 5, 2008

I want to begin by saying that I just love the sofa. The price and shipping charges were so reasonable compared to other stores. The color is much more nicer in person. I was a little hesitant in buying such a big item but I was pleaseantly surprised. I got the sofa in about a week. The sofa was for a small guest room that I have near my family room and it looks amazing. The sofa seems comfortable as well. I have bought many things from overstock and I have yet to be disappointed.

Pain to assemble
Anonymous  from Chicago, IL,  May 29, 2008

Looks good when you finally get it together. Tough assembly, some holes for bolts not fully tapped, so getting it together without stripping bolts was a struggle.

great value; worth the bucks!!
from Bay Area, CA,  May 8, 2008

Received this lovely piece after just 3 business days! In two pieces, it was a 2 person task to put together. And in less than an hour, voila, sofa bed! Although the assembly could have been easier, i.e. all nuts/bolts/holes had to be PERFECTLY alined, it was still pretty simple as I'm no Bob Villa. The 2 major pieces are about 60lbs loosely, so at first i was worried that this sofa would be too small. But ho ho, it's big enough for 3 avg. sized person to sit in or 2 gigantic person to lounge on. Overall, i'm glad i lucked out with this sofabed for its price. woohoo!

Love it...
from Fort Riley, KS,  May 6, 2008

The color of the sofa is actually nicer in person than it is on the picture. The sofa is very comfortable, but firm (I happen to like firmness); however, it is not so firm that you cannot ENJOY sleeping on this couch for a few nights. The softness of the suade, the nice brown tone color, the ease of transforming it to a bed/sofa is all very nice, easy, and enjoyable. The little downside I had was the view from behind the sofa when it is set up in the sofa position. The foot bars stick out a good foot or two (so the back can obviously be supported when it the bed position). So the sofa would look best if against a wall, not positioned in the middle of a room (which is where I wanted to put mine). Also, putting it together was a little dificult. I needed my husband's help a bit, but overall it wasnt too bad to put together (screwing in the bar were a bit hard because you needed to allign them just right, so it ultimately took two people to set it up). Overall, I love the sofa. Being in the military, moving all the time, it is so nice to have an easy moving sofa bed/futon. Definitely worth the cost, and how can you beat the shipping?!
