First, this chair probably deserves 4 stars--I'm going to dwell a bit on the negatives since there are so many positives. We ordered two and these are first impressions. One quick note: The dimension stated for width is incorrect. The chair measures 25.5 inches across the arms at the widest point; the frame is 23 inches and the front of the seat 22 inches across. The other dimensions are correct. The seat height is about 18.5 inches at the highest point and the seat depth is almost 21 inches. They are made by Winmark (Sofa) Manufacturing Co. in DONG GUAN CITY, China. One arrived with ottoman legs poking through the box--amazingly, no damage. The wood finish leaves a bit to be desired. There are black marks (lines) from misapplied stain across the arms and sides of the wood frame on both chairs. There are small holes across one arm of each chair, like a small punch might make. They still look nice, just imperfect. They also don't sit quite level, one more than the other, which is only noticable when there is no weight on the chair--but as the plastic feet aren't quite nailed flush, that might take care of it. They are comfortable enough, but comfort is pretty subjective. The seat is a little deep for a smaller person and the head rest is a little short for a taller person. Four of us have tried them out, and all of us have gotten comfortable with a pillow or two (height range 5'4 - 5'11). They lack lumbar support, which is pretty much as expected. One is a little more comfortable than the other, owing to small variations in the fit of the leather--one chair back is a little more taught than the other, one seat slightly less firm, making a difference that can be felt but can't be seen or easily quantified. I've lounged in one for an hour or two and was able to get comfy. Bottom line: both my wife and I like them and they will stay in our living room. The quality is as good or better than expected for the price. They seem solidly made and are handsome. Wasn't sure about bi-cast leather, but I like it just fine--not as soft and supple as our leather couch, but seems more practical and still looks and feels like leather. No smell at all from these chairs, and no assembly required. Shipping was just a few days, regular UPS. My wife, especially, is not easy to please--she wants beauty and comfort, and these fit the bill, and look like they will last for many years.
The bicast leather looks like leather but the similarities end there. It does not feel or smell like leather. My chair arrived with a large crack in the arm. Overstock.com offered to refund my money and send a shipping label but we came to other terms on it.Very handsome chair, but for the price the bicast leather was disappointing. Also, keep a paperweight on the ottoman because it is very light and easy to send flying across the living room with a stray kick on tile floors.
I ordered this chair set the day after Christmas and recieved January 5. It was packed with great care, and arrived without a scratch or dent. It is even prettier and richer looking than the picture. It is a wonderful size, not gigantic, and looks like it cost me at least a grand! I would recommend this to everyone! I have never ordered anything sight unseen before, and ordered this based on the reviews... that's why I decided to write a review. Hopefully this will help someone who's a little wary of ordering such an item without seeing it first.
Love the look of chair, deep back seat that may need a pillow for support.

Although this chair has a nice look, it's not the most comfortable chair to sit in for long periods of time. I find that I must place a small pillow in the small of my back to feel comfortable if sitting in it for more than a few minutes...but to be fair, I do have degenerative disc disease as most 50+ do. This being said, the chair is well made and I expect that others will not be disappointed in this purchase.

I don't find the chair comfortable at all. I am not sure how noone has mentioned this before, the wood on the sides of the chair cut into the backs of my arms if I try to use the arm rests. So I have to sit with my arms to the inside of the wood, which can be annoying. The other thing is the leather is very slippery, so you tend to slide down in the chair if using the footstool. My husband is a big guy and the wood sides don't bother him, but I can't seem to get past it. If I hadn't thrown the box away the day I got the chair, I would have returned it. You also need a lumbar pillow as there is no support. Yes the chair is very good looking and seems to be made well, but I also want comfort. Sorry I didn't find it in this chair.
I first saw a chair like this in a Napastyle catalogue. I fell in love with the design and comfortable appearance. I knew I'd never get it because it was priced over $1000.00 !!! While surfing overstock for a compromise on what I truly wanted, I came across the twin copy of my dream chair, but it was called the "Hunter Chair". I bought it on the spot and what seemed only a few days, it was delivered. It was packaged with care and I unpacked it with ease.I'm 6'1" tall and 235lbs. and it fits me quite comfortably. I've had Lazyboy recliners before and although this chair isn't quite that plush, I find myself prefering the Hunter chair to our soft leather couch. The look cannot be duplicated. The chair sits on top an oriental rug over travertine floors next to a venetian plaster wall by the fireplace. Theres a small end table next to it on top of which rests an oil rubbed bronze lamp with an orange Mica shade. It's my favorite corner of the house.Hats off to OVERSTOCK for delivering a quality product at an incredibly low price!
I bought this chair 6 months ago...and just bought a 2nd one today. Great, comfortable, beautiful chair and ottoman and what a value....recently saw the exact same chair in a store in Los Angeles for $1090!
love the look, but after a couple of months sitting in a corner, relatively unused, when a small person sat on the foot stool, the legs snapped off. Overstock said "too bad, must deal with the overseas company that made it" - I quit buying from Overstock for over a year. still annoyed, but only over this one product.

I was looking for a fairly small chair, saw this set and the price and scooped it up. It arrived a little earlier than expected, very well protected in the carton. I think the quality is exceptional, considering the price. There are a few distress marks on the arms of the chair, but they look as though they belong there. The left arm of the chair has a joint at about where your elbow would rest that isn't perfect, but then, no one in this day and age can afford the quality of Stickley. This is a nice, affordable, comfortable chair.

I saw this chair in a very nice high end furniture store on sale for $$$ and wanted it badly. Three weeks later I found it on Overstock on a % off weekend. I saved several hundred dollars for the identical product.

We bought a pair of the Morris Hunter chair and ottoman for our conservatory to complete our "conversation seating" area. The chairs are comfortable - I felt asleep in it the first night we got it. I love the extra little padded head/neck rest at the top of the chair. The curvature of the back is a bit deep for me, and I've short legs. So I added a throw pillow on the chair and it's perfect. The faux leather is just that - fake, but the quality isn't bad. If you want real leather, you'll probably have to pay 10x the price of this chair and then you won't want it to get any direct sun light on it either. The assembly was easy. The paired ottoman makes this set a perfect seating to relax or read a book.

The chair is lovely and unique not like most of the chairs one sees in most homes or stores. Its comfortable especially with the addition of a colorful lumbar pillow. Shipped super fast and no assembly required. Only one smaill negative is there was something pressing into the back of the chair causing a large dimple which I hope may flatten out over time.
