The dinette set is nice, but rather cheap looking. I was expecting better. I kept the set because it is going in my eat in kitchen and won't get that much use.
I purchased this set a few months ago and when I saw it in the store I fell in love with it,mostly because of the gold color. I did not realize that after getting it delivered and put together that the seat cushions were so flat and it feels hard when you sit on them for a while . I had on a coat when I walked into the store and sat on it otherwise I would have never brought it. I would also like to mention one of the seat cushions cracked in half and some of the leg protectors came off the bottom of the legs of the chairs. Unfortunately, the store I purchased it from went out of business and I had to contact the manufacturer to get another cushion as well as the bottoms for the chairs.
We bought this dining set 18months ago and after nomal usage, one of the chair broke from the soldering! We're now left with a dining set with 3 chairs and Overstock couldn't do anything to help me out because it's past their return date policy...... Spend your money on something better!!!!!
While this isn't a perfect dinette set, it is what you'd expect for the price. Functional, decent looking, and simple to assemble. The glass top is heavy, with beveled edges, and is held to the base with small suction cups. The base is a bronze color, with gold accents, as well as accents on the chair backs in the same gold. There is a scroll work cutout on the chair backs and the base. The paint job for the gold is pretty mediocre at best, but it doesn't really detract too much from the overall appearance at a glance. The fabric on the chairs isn't a super high quality, and is definitely gold in color, but it seems to be holding up so far. Assembly wasn't too difficult, I did most of it on my own, with my husband doing a bit here and there. The only issue I had in assembly was that one of the holes in one chair leg wasn't drilled out entirely, so my husband had to fix it, but it took him all of 2 minutes to do. Other than that, the only unexpected thing was the chair bases (the padded part) didn't have pre-drilled holes for the screws, so it was handy to have my husband's cordless drill to save time. One thing to consider, this is NOT a very large table. We can fit 4 people around it, but it gets a bit crowded for elbow room. Just to give you an idea, I purchased a set of place mats, and I cannot fit all 4 on the table without some overlap. It's possible they may be larger than normal place mats, I'm unsure. If you are looking for a small table for an eat in kitchen, or maybe a sun room, for two people to dine on, this will fit the bill just fine.
This dining set looks even better in person than online. For the price paid this is definitely of good quality and overall appearance- I've already received compliments on it from all my friends that have been over and they have asked me where I got it, how much did I pay, etc. In terms of assembly- I definitely didn't do it, my boyfriend did and he said it took about 2.5 hours. There are a ton of pieces to this set but well worth it overall. Only downfall is that the seat cushions look slightly more gold in person than online, but I figure down the road if I don't like the color or pattern of the cover that I can always choose a different cover as it will be easy to fix.
