We've been wanting a trash compactor for some time, mainly because of the quantity of trash we seem to put in the big bin. Some weeks it was overflowing when we put it at the curb. This compactor has cut our trash down to one bag a week. I'm not kidding either! I collect all the trash in the house and put it in the compactor on trash day, and it handles everything perfectly. The deodorizer disk takes care of odors, I'm not sure how, but it works. We bought the kick plate on *** so we can use the compactor free-standing. I am so happy with this purchase!

Broan Compactor I purchased this trash compactor when building my house, as building goes it was delay upon delay! When I finally got it installed it did not work right! The compact and hold did not work. Any one who uses a compactor knows that that is the most important feature. Anyway unfortunately I threw *** dollars away. A warning to anyone who buys this, buy the warranty! Or another model!

Positive Review This is not a one-step compactor like our previous models, but those type have become so poorly made that we switched. You have to manually open the door and pull out the drawer to put in the trash. Then close the door to compact. However, the bag is easy to switch out, there is a place to store the bags, and there is a good odor-control block with it. Overall, it is a good unit that we think will last a long time.
