After agonizing over two benches for our kitchen to place cook books in and bread machines (four!) on...I finally chose these...but was skeptical until they arrived and were assembled. They are nice and sturdy. Found on several other web-site but Overstock had the best price+shipping. I read MANY reviews trying to find out if the cubbies were tall enough for binders and tall books. They are. :) Note: Be VERY careful in assembling the middle (center) shelf. It can cause quite an "oops" and come through your top pc.

I bought this piece to place under my window in our kitchen and it fits perfectly and looks great! I purchased two baskets to go underneath for storage-this cubbie has really enhanced the look of my kitchen! I have received several compliments on it and have been asked where to purchase. The bench fit in my foyer perfect but it's really not durable if you have children or a husband that is not careful. The corner of the bench chipped the first week we had it. Putting it together was simple.

I had a specific bench in mind that I wanted and I couldn't ever find it until I saw this one. It is perfect! I use it in my massage office for my clients to be able to comfortably use and then store their clothing and other items in while getting the massage. I love it and I would recommend it to anyone!

Looks good when done. Watch out with top piece. Can damage very easy if you put the top pegs in to far.

I used this under my Plasma TV which was on the wall a few feet above it. It was great place for cable box and DVD player. You can purchase baskets at any home decorating store. It looks great.

This was the perfect piece for a difficult space. This bench arrived as a flat-pack, but is easier to assemble than most pieces packed this way. The bench is of a simple design with good storage and function. The item arrived in great condition and adds just the touch I needed in my livingroom. As for the price, I found this bench to be of the same quaility as benches priced at least 50 percent higher.

This item is cheaply made, but for the money (and my purposes) it suited me. The directions were awful! I had to take it apart once because one piece was in backwards (due to lack of clarity in instructions). Some of the screws were already stripped before I had to take it apart, so I ended up using some glue the second time around. Wouldn't really recommend.

Easy to assemble, not "cheap" looking at all--very solid. We use it for shoes inside the door, and as a keys/scarves/gloves shelf.

I know not to expect much for the price, but this is beyond cheap. Go to your local discount store instead.

This was a great buy. Needed storage for the foot of my son's bed. This was perfect. He has played on it, walked on it (he's a big 5yr old) and it is still standing strong. Great buy for the money. He will have it for a long time :)

Bottom piece came cracked so had to wait for replacement almost two weeks. Once that came it went together fairly quick and easy. Sturdy enough to take adult weight and good size for the kids to sit on for shoes etc. Excellent value for the money!

I purchased this as a shoe caddy bench - got a bin to go in each cubbie and it looks fine. I have actually received a few compliments. I agree with the other reviewers that you have to be careful when putting in the pegs for the top - they are a little long and could damage the top if pushed too far in. The back piece also shows, but who is really looking at this thing from directly above? I think it is a good piece for the money.

Overall i think this is a great deal and definitely serves its purpose while being cute at the same time. The only thing I would say is that the underside of the top piece is not black. I live on the 3rd floor of a triple-decker, so when you are walking up the stairs, you can see that it is a light brown (cardboard color) underneath instead of black. That was a bit of a bummer. But if you won't be seeing the underside, then I would give it a 5 stars!

When assembled the top of the back panel sticks up slightly higher than the flat portion of the bench. So the unfinished tan color of the back plyboard can be seen when you are looking down on the top of the bench. I will take a black magic marker to try and camoflauge but don't think a person should have to do that.

We purchased this bench to put in our entry way. We use it as both a bench and a place to store shoes (we purchased baskets at a local craft store). It's sturdy, not too difficult to put together, and it looks great!

This bench was easy to install and fits very well in a small place. We have it in our mud room. It does not come with baskets but it was easy to find some. Once I ordered the cushion, the whole unit popped. Besides it being attractive, it is very functional!

Nice looking benches, overall. I bought 2 for my kitchen. Like I've seen in some other reviews, however, the dowels did break through on the top of the both bench tops and on the inside divider sections. Since I knew what to watch for, I tried to keep it from happening by being very careful - it still happened. Was able to fix it with some wood glue, but needless to say, I was disappointed.

Perfect size bench for our entry area in our house. I was really surprised by the quality of this bench for the price. It was not hard to find baskets to fit either, I was nervous about that. All around a great purchase, and would definitely recommend!
