This item was what I expected. Nothing fancy but useful for a student roommate who needs the extra shelf space for books. Actually, it's more of a bookcase than a headboard. Unfortunately, it came with absolutely NO assembly instructions. If not for my engineering-minded daughter, I never would have figured out how to put it together! I'm still not sure where to use the L brackets. Otherwise, it looks good in the room.

very hard to put together on your own because it is so big, but once assembled it looks great, having shelfs behind your bed is really nice. its a little shakey but looks great

Good value, you get what you pay for. Looks very nice especially with a matching dresser and nightstand. The center shelf for it did not fit and I had to shave 1/4 off of it to make it fit, other than that it's great.

Unlike most furniture that I have put together this came with no identifying marks or numbers on the pieces (A,B,C, etc...) so I had to figure out which piece by the picture. Not difficult, but inconvenient. Also, there are no screw holes to attach a bed frame so we had to create our own - had to make a Lowe's run for the right length screws. We opted to not nail the back piece on the shelves - works just fine. Finished product looks nice - perfect for child's room or guestroom.

This is a great piece of furniture for your first apartment. A spot nicer then college furniture, but certainly not something that you would want to be in a master bedroom. When my fiancee and I leave this apartment after getting married, this bed will be going in the guest bedroom, but it is just not good enough for our Master suite. It tilts a little, but that could be the old brownstone that we are in. It is also bowed a little and there are basically cardboard backers on the shelves. All in all, for the price it was fine, but when it comes down to it I would only reccomend with reservations.

I ordered this headboard for our guest room and it looks great! I read other customer's reviews and was skeptical at first, especially since it doesn't attach to the bed frame. Looking at it now, I think that's a good idea since movement from the bed could cause things to fall over. I plan on using a nylon strap and attaching the headboard to the wall to stabilize it.... The assembly wasn't that easy... it took my husband forever (lol) and he said a few choice words during the process. Eventually, he got it done and it looks just like in the picture. Not a bad product for the price (I paid about $***)

The product itself is fine and does what I wanted. The issue was in the ship time and the total lack of customer service. It put a bad taste in my mouth that it takes five days for a UPS update as to where my item is. And 12 days for shipping is a bit much unless of course it was coming from SIberia

As to assembly, the enclosed screws to assemble the unit are LONGER than the depth of the pressed wood/composite board, so the screws go all the way through and break the surface and break the "melamine" or such finish on the "good side" that shows! BIG Mistake in design/assembly!!!!

We are very happy with our new furniture purchase. We ordered the dresser, bed, and nightstand. It did take a while to assemble, but the instructions were very clear and all the parts were there. For the price it is great quality! Would definately recommend!

The only issue is there is no way to attach the bedframe to the headboard, but perhaps that is what they intend to avoid the headboard rocking back and forth. I just keep the bed about an inch from the headboard and told the kids not to jump on the bed. Very nice overall! the quality meets or exceeds the price.

This headboard looks nice; however, the quality isn't great. Assembling the product was a task and while putting this together, some of the pieces did bend a little. This headboard is for looks not durability.

I purchased this for my 10 year old son's room. It took me less than an hour to assemble. The two end parts were off and I had to drill holes for the dowels to add the trim pieces. Other than that I think that it's a pretty good piece of furniture for a kid's room. I also ordered the desk and that was easy to assemble as well.

Even better than I expected-well made, looks awesome and very practical. I love the shelves and the construction quality, especially for the price.

The bookcase headboard I recently purchased made a tremendous addition to my bedroom as I enjoy reading and listening to music at night. Plenty of room for books, a good reading lamp, CD and stereo. It was incredibly easy to put together. Less than an hour for 2 people assembling it. It looks terrific. The black color goes great with my Far Eastern bedroom motif. Many good comments from friends who have seen it.

As a former ***** afficionado, I can honestly say this piece is worth the money. It has the look of a stylish name, but what I think is a very affordable price. Assembly is no big deal. I was able to do it with the help of my four year old daughter in around an hour. The instructions are well written- which is nice. In terms of quality of the wood- it's particle board, but that's what you get at this price.

i brought this headboard for my 17 year son, who is a mess! I didn't want to spend a lot of money, so this was perfect. I was told it was not difficult to put together, and has held up great, and my son loves it.

Went together fairly easily. Fit nicely with a tall set of mattresses. Looks very nice put together.

Good product for the cost. If it's well cared for, it will probably last a while.

The quality of the product is very good. It was easy to assemble and fits both a full size bed and a queen size bed. I like how it did not have preset holes for the size of bed as we could select where we wanted to drill them. Excellent product.

Headboard arrived in nice shape. It was easy to put together, although the directions were a bit confusing related to the "finished" sides and "unfinished" sides. The backing is a very flimsy material and is not pre-drilled for cords. The headboard is not pre-drilled to match up to metal bedframe. Also, we had to use black sharpie pen to cover-up some of the unfinished material that was in visible areas. This is for our teenaged-son's bedroom, so no biggie on the minor quirks. If this were for my room I would have had second thoughts as it is not real wood. End result: a nice looking piece for a kids room. He is in 10th heaven.
