The top of the bench arrived with some damage to the corner. Like somebody had dropped it on the corner in the factory. I emailed the company and they immediately sent a replacement piece that arrived a couple days later. This one had a couple scuffs on it, but with some touch-up marker will be fine. It went together very easily, but the instructions weren't very good. You had to kind of figure it out from the pictures and it was like putting a puzzle together, still, it was pretty easy for two people to do in less than an hour. It looks very nice now, and all the pieces were there and it went together easily, so I'm really just marking it down a little because of the damage on both top pieces that arrived, but that's how customer service should be, really.
I am happy with my purchase of this storage bench. I bought it for my kitchen to have a place to store our shoes when we come in the house. It looks great & didn't have any scratches or defects so I was happy about that!! I have one basket in the middle & my only complaint is the back of the bench started to fall off after 2 days from sliding the basket in & out. It's not a big deal, I just took it off as I really didn't see a need to have it on there, but just keep that in mind if you plan on using baskets in this bench that will be slid in & out frequently.
Great bench for a great price. Very easy to put together and looks like anything you could pick up at a local store. I put it at the foot of my bed and it woks great for putting on shoes. Very sturdy but not too heavy. Not sure what to do with the 3 openings but I'm sure I will find something that will work.
