we're really happy with this purchase. the fireplace added instant ambience to a bland wall. We're using candles right now as it isn't that cold yet and the candles look beautiful. It's a really easy, inexpensive way to make a statement. I would definitely recommend this fireplace.

We were plesanlty suprised how much it looks like a real fireplace. When we first took it out of the box I thought we would send it back because it looks so fake. but once we put in on the bottom of our bookshelf it magicaly became a fireplace! We have only burned one sterno at a time so far because we are afraid of the heat it puts out ! I suppost in the colder months we will appreciate that aspect!Another thing we think is nice is that we can move it around our home like by the BATHTUB! or in the bedroom!

I purchased this fireplace because we moved from a home to an apartment, we missed our real fireplace. I looked at electric fireplaces....didn't like that they were large, heavy, expensive , and not a REAL fire. what is the point of that? I did not tell my husband of my purchase, It arrived, I installed it, and had the gel fuel canisiters lit when he came home from work. he loved it. I installed it by placing wood strips on the wall behind the unit, the unit brackets to do not line up with normal wall studs. Then I attached the unit to the wood strips. Its very secure to the wall. I don't worry about the fire risk, because the unit gets warm but not too hot, and the canisters sit deep into the brackets, so they cannot fall out. I have to push up from the bottom, to remove them. It does create heat. It could get expensive if the unit were used only for heat. We love the warmth and the sound of the gel fuel canisters. it really does crackle like a fire. I read complaints about the gel fuel ordor, I don't notice this, but they do have an odor when the canister is empty and the flame has not gone out. I actually like this, its like a warning, I simply cover the canister and it goes out. I burn candles in the unit during the day, ,,the same calming effect. The antique bronze finish, is very nice, everyone who has seen it our apartment wants one. Don't hesitate to buy if you want the look and calming effect of a fireplace.

Although I have not used my wallmounted fireplace yet, it is very easy to install and look very nice on the wall between my living and dining area. Can't wait to see if it will warm the room.

I've had this fireplace for over 6 months and it's great. I read other reviews and did a little research prior to purchasing this, and the product is pretty accurate. This was a first purchase for me from OS and service, delivery and product were on point. I've had no problems and product is as described. I love this wall mount fire place in my bedroom (have real woodburning one in living room). It's easy to use and adds the right touch of beautiful detail for my elegant, "old world" decor. Love the option of using candles during warmer months and actual flame for cooler periods. Great product - would definitely recommend.

Think of the Bristol Antique Gold fireplace as a picture,cause it's aas simple as hanging one. I love to create an atmosphere in a room,& this lovely little fireplace adds an elegant ,yet cozy touch.I would most certainly recommend it to my friends & have done so

I wish I could upload a photo just so everyone can see what I did with this beautiful piece. I have always wanted a fireplace in my apartment but my space is very limited so, when I came across this wall mount ¿ I thought to myself - this would be a great idea. I purchased it, and I couldn¿t be happier. I would recommend this wall mount fireplace to anyone who has an empty wall and do not know what to do with it¿buy a wall mount fireplace because you can also use it for candles. Enjoy! Michele

This is truly an antique gold in that it is subtle and not shiny gold at all. I ordered it after reading enthusiastic comments---and I agree with them all. This item is odor free, attractive, functional----and I plan to buy several more in different designs in the future.

When I wanted to do complete makeover for my front sitting room, I decided to place one of these gel fireplaces on a main wall between column/pilasters and corbels that we added to this wall. This unit gives the WOW factor when you enter this room. It's just stunning. It gives you this comfy cozy feeling and brings the room to life. It's the perfect size for that added touch of elegance for a room. When not using it as a "fireplace", a set of three pillar candles fits the bill. I wanted something that was unique that didn't serve up to the same humdrum painted walls and hang up pictures decor. I couldn't be more happier with this fireplace and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for that something special for a room.

What a great idea! These wall mounted fireplaces are not only beautiful, but very functional. I had originally bought a small corner floor model & had a mantle, complete with two drawers for the fuel cans, made for it to get it off of the floor. I liked it so well I bought two wall mounted models: one for my livingroom (the Bristol Antique Gold Wall Mount Fireplace), & one for my bedroom (the Black Wall Mount Fireplace). They are convenient, easy to install, don't take up much room, don't use wood or other natural mediums, as they use the gel fuel in cans (just be sure to shake the cans before using), & quite mesmerizing. They put out a good amount of heat which can easily be felt across the room. I really like & enjoy the real flame & ambiance with each of mine. Would I recommend them to anyone else? You betcha! And I have to many of my friends & family, sending them pictures of my new working fireplaces. I just know you'll enjoy yours.

I love this fireplace! It gives essence to the room and that moonlight ambiance when the mood is right. Picture Perfect! Best thing no assembly required. You can either use gel cans or candles.

We added this to our lower level family room as a focal point. It's not much larger than a good sized picture, so it doesn't overwhelm the room, just gives it a nice touch. I ordered the gel fuel from this site as well, and I don't think it's as good quality as I've purchased elsewhere. It doesn't last as long as it claims and hard to re-light if you have to close it off. But the fireplace is wonderful - no assembly to speak of, easy to hang, and adds a nice ambience to any room.

The picture online does not do this justice! It is very beautiful. The sound affects are just very relaxing.I live in Florida so the heat part will not get used much, but it does throw off some heat.

I bought this fireplace to hang over my large bathtub because I love fireplaces - I have one in almost every room in my house, so why not the bathroom? It is the perfect size and it came quickly with no hassles, but I do think it is a tad over-priced for what it is. I guess you are paying for the idea, which is great - this fireplace can be hung anywhere and it would be especially good for small areas that would not have enough room for a full size fireplace. If you don't want to use real candles, you can use battery flame candles which look beautiful and you don't have to worry about leaving it unattended. This item looks exactly as pictured.

I was not sure about using gel in the house with an open flame. This fire place is safe and well made. It is great to use on these cold winter nights while we watch television.

I love my new wall mount fireplace, not only does it look very nice on the wall with just candles but when I light the fuel it is just like a real fieplace. It crackles and puts out heat just like a real fireplace.

Really looked hard for a unique gift for a special person. She uses candles around her spa tub in the bath area. I set this fireplace on the ledge of the tub and lit just one gel fuel cannister. She loved it. It looks like it was made to be there. The look and sounds of a real fireplace made this a big hit. This was an ideal application and no more half melted candles sitting around!

Since I wanted a fireplace, and our new home didn't have one, this is a nice alternative. I love looking at the flames and listening to the crackling of the fire. I do have a safety issue of it coming off the wall and spilling the gel, So I am very careful not to leave the room without extinguishing it. All in all, it is a beautiful addition to our decor.

The fireplace is wonderful. I wanted a fireplace for my bedroom and this fit the bill quite nicely. It gives off plenty of warmth using 2 cans of gel. The design is ornate and beautiful. I will definitely order again from Overstock.
