This is a real time saver and so very versitie. You can get rid of several other appliances and just use this one whether you're a family or by yourself. Especially good for summer when you don't want to heat up the oven but just a good in winter when you want those nice roasted meats or soups.
I really like this cooker, It cooks almost to perfection. I would have liked better instructions and a cookbook. I use my old stove model cookbook but I'm always adjusting the the cooking time. Would have liked the #of preasure to be listed .

Nice, solid construction. Has great safety features. Does not seem to have much difference between the different settings. I have to use mine through 2 cycles to complete the cooking process.

I highly recomend this product for a family that needs the food fast! It also gets it done so well! I just lost my manual where there are some recipes....and haven't found any information from the Bravetti web site. Would any one that owns it:(as I read from bluejeanbabyqueen, coul e-mail it to me please? scan it maybe and then e-mail it? Do you know if recipes from stove top p[ressure cooker work as well in this electric one? I have a book that I am afraid to try...as I did not find one book for electric pressure cookers anywhere...I hope somebody can help me.
Very will made with EASY instructions on how to use it....Did a wonderfull job on a cheap beef roast I've had in the freezer...Takes the guess work out....It programs itself for what type of cooking you are going to do in the cooker.....Has many other features we have not tried yet. A real timesaver.Good buy.
I have had long experience with pressure cookers but this is my first electric one, so I was not real sure what to expect. I ordered one for me andone for a gift for my daughter. I have been pleased so far with my use of it, but have only used it once really to cook butterbeans quickly. It did what it was supposed to do, so I was happy and my husband was really happy to get his favorite veggie in a short cooking time of just a few minutes as opposed to 2 hours cook time it usually takes. It is a good size for most things and the book that came with it of directions was adequate. I might have to give another review after the holidays are over and I have more experience with it.
This is a solid, heavy pressure cooker, a far cry from years past. The enclosed use manual & "cookbook" could be more varied, but the instructions are concise and easily understood. All in all, after some usage, this is a product that will lend itself to imaginative recipes of our own. Wonderful product, highly recommend. The only drawback for my kitchen is storage space - and this pressure cooker takes up some storage space. But it's just a fact, the more kitchen "toys" - the more storage space is needed.
This pressure cooker has done its job well. It's pretty easy to use, and the quality of food is pretty good. It's very good with rice -- you wouldn't want to go back to those cheap rice cookers once you tried this, and it make nice stew as well. What I like about it is that unlike some stove-top pressure cookers, it doesn't make those scary hissing sound. It's almost silent when cooking. The only remaining question is durability, as I haven't been using it for long. I have doubts on how long the plastic ring inside the lid would last, hence 4 stars.
The automatic cycle failed the third time the appliance was used. The safety float vatve strikes the plastic handle at times and thus is prevented from rising and sealing. The cost to return the defective unit is $24.95 even under the warranty. The concept is good but without the quality and durability it is useless.
Although I havn't used it as of yet I opened the package and was impressed with the quality of the item. I will be using it over the holiday season and if it cooks as good as it looks I will be extremely impressed.. I've heard other customers are extremely satisfied with this product . I expect to be one of those satisfied customers.
Love it. It is so easy to use. It thinks, just push the button on what the manual tells you to push for whatever you put in the pot and poof! it cooks just right and then keeps it warm for you so you can start dinner, run out to shop and its done and ready to serve when you get back home. Easy to clean inside pot. It removes and washes easily, only use nylon scrubbers on it though so you don't ruin the finish. I've made soups, chili, stew, pot roast, broccoli soup, veggie soup, with barly or without, What I love the most, because I grew up using the old stove top pressure cookers, is that it does all the work for you. No fussing with the right stove setting so it doesn't blow up absolutely none of that worry. Great wedding gift, anniversary gift, etc., It's just the right size for a small family or the folks' empty nest. Usable for large family's for the meats, or a side soup but not soup for the entire meal for a very hungry family of 6 or more. 12 cup cooking space but the space is arrange for a large roast or chicken.
I bought this for my wife to lighten the job of cooking. She just loves this product. After using it two times she threw out her old style pressure cooker and her slow cooker. They were no longer needed. This does it all. She found it very easy to use, if you just follow the directions. We found out the first time she used it, that the cheaper cuts of beef can be made to taste as delicious as the more expensive cuts. The preset cooking modes make it very easy to use and make it user friendly. This Bravetti Pressure Cooker has made my wife very happy and as long as she is happy, that means that I am too.
I purchased this unit because my daughter had one. Overstock's price was a lot lower than what she paid! I have a pressure cooker that I have to use on the stove but I keep burning everything. The Bravetti cooks everything perfectly. Best of all, you don't have to watch it. Just set it and it cooks everything to perfection.
I received this item within 4 days of ordering and I must say, I"m THRILLED. It's functioned beautifully for everything from soup to pork roast, it's very easy to clean and has only 4 parts (lid, seal, inner container and rack) to fiddle with. Its' styling is a great combination of high-tech with a slight retro feel to it. I highly recommend this unit but NOT for canning--it's big enough for larger roasts but not for jars.
I was having difficulty finding a quality electric pressure cooker in the stores. I was pleasantly surprized with the quality of this item. I can't comment on the durability, because I have only used this cooker four times this month. However, I am impressed with the quality, value, and the ease of using Overstock.com for the first time. I will use this service again.
I've used pressure cookers for 25+ years and have been through a few. I've heard horror stories. Even had a friend who had one explode on her. However the one she was using didn't have a safety plug. One that will pop out and off releasing pressure when too much pressure is built up, a safety feature I first noticed in the 80's. Again I've used them for years and love them. I love the fact that you can cook pinto beans in 20 to 25 minutes without soaking them overnight. However I do prefer to "Hard" boil them first for 5 minutes then let them soak for an hour before placing them in the cooker. The skin is tender and not at all tough. Serve with fresh salsa, tortillas or crackers and cheese. Right there you've got yourself a great tasting, hearty & healthy meal. OK, back to the cooker. I love it. I bought it for myself for my birthday. I choose to have it take it's time in shipping to save the extra money, so I got it about a week after I ordered it. I have had it for three weeks and have used it 7 times already. I was out of town the entire week of Thanksgiving but seriously considered bringing it along. So really 7 times in 2 weeks of me being at home. The first thing I made was the beans, the next night I made a beef roast, shredded the meat and made BBQ beef sandwiches. I've made homemade chicken soup from scratch in just over an hour. Beef stew a couple of times, and last night, melt in your mouth pork ribs. I was disappointed with the lack of clarity in the instructions and what some of the extra parts are for. I still don't get the thimble thing??? I'd never used an electric pressure cooker before so once I set it up to cook I left the room and got busy doing something else. I never heard the whistling or shaking or rocking that I had been used to hearing. So when I went back into the kitchen I thought that the pressure hadn't built up yet, but not only had it built up, it was finished cooking and was keeping itself warm just waiting for me. This thing don't make any noise and will keep food warm after cooking for several hours. So you can get it ready in the morning before work, or shopping, or whatever, and come home to a tender, hot & hearty meal. This is somewhere between the tastes generated by a slow cooker meal and the speed of a microwave. Don't let that fool you, you can come home from work realize that nothing was defrosted, have frozen veggies, get frustrated and plan on dinner in about three hours or settle on PB&J and hope tomorrow you remember to thaw something. OR you can throw the frozen stuff into the cooker set it and in usually less than an hour have a fantastic meal that would have normally taken most of the day to make. Folks have complained about the lack of recipes included, OK so there is that. I usually look them over to get ideas but usually end up making what I wanted to make anyway. Don't be afraid to play and experiment. Do the same things you'd do with a roaster pan or a slow cooker. The only difference is that it will be done oh so much quicker and on the counter top. It's also easy to clean and looks good. My kids may each get one for x-mas.
Works fine, especially for rice cooking, taste better than normal rice cooker. The pressure (means the temperature also) is less than my non-electric type. Most dissatisfaction part is that I can not control the cooking time. For longer cooking time, only thing I can do is to press the cooking button again when the warm light on.
I bought one for myself and love it. It is a real time saver. I made the best pot of beans I have ever made. The stew is great. I also cook just carrots and the flavor is wonderful. I highly recommend this and do not want to be without it!!!
