    • Sheepskin rug is the result of the same methods pioneered in the 1880s by the Bowron brothers from Yorkshire
    • Bowron's unique 42-step tanning method has been constantly refined and perfected over the past 100 years
    • Raw skins are expertly trimmed, machine and hand-washed before the tanning commences
    • Tanned fleece is dried, combed by machine, combed by hand, and polished to enhance the natural luster of the sheep's wool
    • Authentic Bowron rugs are made from select lambs from the finest flocks from Australia's outback, the high runs and the lush green pastoral farms of New Zealand

    Upon opening:

    Your Bowron sheepskin may have been tightly packaged and the wool may appear flattened. Wool fibers are resilient and will bounce back to their original springy appearance. A vigorous shake will help restore the soft, fluffy appearance of the wool.

    Care instructions:
    • Machine or hand wash in warm water using a mild liquid detergent
    • Spin to remove excess water
    • Dry flat or on a line and stretch to shape while damp
    • Do not iron or bleach
    After washing, wool may revert back to its natural curly state. You can help restore the fluffy appearance by brushing the wool while it is wet and again when it is dry. A wire brush or comb is suitable. Keep away from direct sunlight and artificial heat. Do not tumble dry. Do n

    • A Winderful Feature in Our Home

      These rugs are lovely. Our children are crazy about the large one we purchased for our library at home. I would not recommend them for homes with pets and lots of shoe traffic. We don't wear shoes in the house, so it remains pristine. They're soft and incredibly comfortable. The kids love to throw themselves on it to read and play. Our guests always comment on how cool the rug looks.

    • Nice Rug

      The rug is nice but they don't tell you what grade it is. In fact it is the "Bronze Star" line and not the "Gold Star." For a few dollars more you can get the better quality--so this is not such a great deal after all.

    • Beautiful Rug

      I was a little hesitant about ordering this rug because of its price but after some research I found that for its size it was really a great deal. We purchased this rug for the nursery of our little boy that we are expecting this summer. It's great. So soft and beautiful. I'm sure it will be very comfy for him to play on. I only hope that it's easy to clean the messes that a baby can make off this rug.

      Super soft, great looking sheepskin rug. I haven't had it long enough to see how hard it is to stay clean, especially since my labradoodle loves to lay on it. Nice addition to our sleek modern bedroom.

      This is absolutely a gorgeous rug..very expensive looking and nice quality. I would purchase it again and will probably get another one only larger size. I have two cats and was worried they would destroy it..they won't even walk on it. lol :) great rug for a even better price.
